TRICK (I guess? idk friend. itâs a thing)
Kei peered down his nose at the sight in front of him, lip curled and face blank.
âI thought vampires were supposed to burst into flames when they get staked,â he said conversationally. Â âWhat kind of defective vampire are you?â
The vampire in question scoffed at him and grabbed at their chest, fingers probing the wound around the wooden stake carefully.
âWhat kind of defective vampire hunter are you,â the vampire shot back. Â They grabbed the stake and yanked it right back out of their chest, barely even wincing. Â âTo think that that silly legend could actually kill me? Â Do they not even teach you to do proper research anymore? Â Hunters these days,â the vampire scoffed.
They met Keiâs eyes, leaned in close, and smiled. Â It was the last thing Kei saw before slipping into darkness.
â
âHow many times have I told you that you canât just- Â oh my-â Â A growl brings Kei out of his slumber and he blinks up at the high ceiling of the room blearily a few times before realizing that the world was blurry because he wasnât wearing his glasses. Â A slow search of his immediate surroundings found them on the floor near his head. Â Once the world was a little clearer he struggled to his feet and carefully shook out his arms and legs; being enthralled by a vampire was never an easy thing to work out of oneâs system. Â But it was worth it in the end.
His goal had never been to kill the vampire. Â Something that would become apparent soon he was sure.
He shuffled out of the room and followed the growls and raised voices towards a brightly lit room: the library if he remembered correctly.
âSeriously Tooru. Â You canât just keep dragging strays in and expecting me to fix them up.â Â Something clatters to the floor. Â âEspecially since itâs more like I have to fix their memories and send them on their way.â
âIâm sorry Daichi. Â But to be fair he started it.â
Kei peered around the doorway and watched the two men stare at each other before the dark haired one threw his arms up in frustration. Â The vampire Kei had staked - Tooru - huffed and turned away to glare at the fireplace.
Kei stepped into the doorway and crossed his arms over his chest.
âTo be fair,â he said, âhe is right. Â I did start it.â
They both spun on their heels and stared at him in surprise.
âYou shouldnât be awake yet,â Tooru said in confusion. Â âYou should be out for at least another few hours.â

âQuit moving, Iâm trying to sleep. WaitâŠare youâŠwhat?!â OiDai
For those of you who wanted more of this OiDaiTsukki thing
have some OiDai?
Tooru tugged his blankets back to himself with a grumble that only got louder when his blankets were yanked back the other direction and a warm body rolled over an pressed their back to his.
âQuit moving,â he growled, ââm tryin to sleep.â
âHush up and sleep then,â Daichi grumbled back.
âWait⊠are you⊠what?â  Tooru sat up and snapped his bedside lamp on.  âHow did you get in?â
âTsukishima kicked me out of his dorm and itâs too far back to my apartment.â Â Tooru blinked down at Daichi.
âOkay that explains the question I didnât ask. Â Now how about the one I did?â
âI mean I may have implied one too many times that he was surprisingly invested in the whole âOikawa has a giant crush on Sawamuraâ thing considering Iâm going out with him and suggested that perhaps he has the beginnings of a pretty decent sized crush on you too but I donât think-â
Tooru sat up and thumped Daichi in the face with his pillow as hard as he could.
âAnswer my question Sawamura. Â How did you get into my apartment?â
âUh,â Daichi pushed the pillow off his face and tucked it under his chin, arms crossing over it possessively. Â âThrough the door? Â Like usual?â
Tooru may have a giant crush on Daichi that has never really been a secret. Â Tooru may want to smother the man with kisses and buy him sweets and maybe some flowers. Â Tooru may melt when Daichi gives him that smile that makes his eyes crinkle - the man is going to have excellent gorgeous laugh lines in another decade, Tooruâs certain. Â But he was not head over heels enough that he had given Daichi a key to his apartment. Â (Not yet, his brain helpfully supplied as Daichi stretched against the bed, pillow still clutched to his chest, and blinked tiredly up at Tooru.
âMy door. Â That I distinctly remember locking because I canât sleep if my door is unlocked. Â Therefore it is never unlocked at night.â Â The sleepiness was gone from Daichiâs body in an instant. Â He stared up at Tooru, wide eyed and mouth agape, and let out a nervous laugh. Â The last time Tooru remembered seeing anyone so guilty looking had been when Makki stole his milk bread when they were second years and accidentally dropped it off the roof and into the dumpster when he was trying to keep it away from Tooru. Â âWell?â Â Tooru finally asked when it was obvious Daichi wasnât going to respond.
âIwaizumi loaned me his key?â
âHe wouldnât do that. Â Try again.â
He should probably feel more upset over it. Â He liked his personal space and privacy and security. Â It was why he lived in his own apartment off campus even though it would have been cheaper and less work to get a room in the dorms. Â The fact that Daichi was here without Tooruâs permission or knowledge should push at all the wrong buttons and rub him the wrong way. Â But all he can think is how comfortable he was when he started to wake up, before he realized he had almost no blankets that is, and how even though he knows that Daichi knows of at least two other people who live in the dorms or closer to the dorms than here Daichi chose to come to Tooruâs apartment instead.
He was so caught up in his thoughts about how maybe his silly little crush had been steadily turning into much more than just a crush in the months since he ran into Tsukishima when the started university that he almost didnât hear Daichiâs whisper.
âI picked the lock.â
âYou missed me so much you picked the lock of my apartment door?â
âYes.â
He had expected Daichi to make a comment about getting kicked out of Tsukishimaâs room and needing a place to crash. Â Or to maybe deny he missed Tooru, or at least scoff a little at it. Â The direct confirmation to Tooruâs almost teasing question blanked his mind. Â It was like someone had just pressed pause on all of his thoughts and higher brain functions. Â The only thing he could do was take long, deep breaths and blink as he stared down at Daichiâs sincere face.
âOh,â he finally managed.
âWanna go to sleep and panic about this all in the morning?â Â Daichi reached out and tugged on Tooruâs shirtsleeve.
Tooru would have liked to make some grand statement about not panicking about something like this but he knew that Daichi knew better; Daichi had been the one that Tooru had gotten a bloody nose from running into when he had panicked and tried to power walk away the first time he realized Tsukishima wasnât joking about wanting to get him into bed with or without Daichi. Â So just let out the yawn that was crawling out of his lungs and dropped back onto the bed.
âJust stop hogging all my blankets or youâre sleeping on the floor.â
âDoes this mean I get to cuddle you? Â Cause I crashed on top of the blankets since you werenât awake for me to ask about sharing.â
Daichiâs smile did dumb things to Tooru as he played with the edge of the blanket and waited for Tooruâs response. Â He was going to be in so much trouble because of that smile one day. Â He was probably already in so much trouble because of it. Â (He already knew he was in trouble because of the curve of Tsukishimaâs lips even though he didnât really admit to the crush that was forming there. Â Just the fact that Tsukishimaâs smile meant trouble of some kind or another.)
âCuddles are acceptable,â Tooru replied. Â âAs long as you share the blankets.â
âDone.â
It only takes a few minutes to settle under the blankets with Oikawa pressed against Daichiâs back and their legs tangled together.
His phone lit up with a new message on his desk where it was charging but he didnât feel like checking it when he was secure with his arm across Daichiâs waist and his nose pressed into Daichiâs hair.
3 New MessagesBird Nerd: Â I assume our boyfriend is at your place. Â Youâre welcome.
Bird Nerd: Â Yes I said our boyfriend. Â I do know how to share. Â Even if itâs with you. Â I hope youâve got your head out of your butt and are cuddling him now.
Bird Nerd: If I find out Iâm missing a night of cuddling and youâre not taking advantage of that I am going to strangle you with one of your own dumb scarves. Â Good night. Â Sleep Well.
âMisery doesnât look that great on you. Try, perhaps, anger?â - DaiTsukki, mayhaps.
âMisery doesnât look that great on you,â Daichi said pleasantly as he slipped into the booth next to Tsukishima. Â âTry, I dunno, anger?â
âI could be angry that I am over ninety-percent sure I failed the exam thatâs worth a quarter of my grade because my roommate attempted to set our entire dorm on fire last night while making a cheap packet of ramen in the microwave he smuggled into our room three weeks ago. Â But Iâd much rather be miserable, thanks.â
Tsukishima didnât even move from his position of arms folded on the table and cheek smushed into arms, face pointing away from the rest of the diner. Â Daichi figured there wasnât much of interest happening on the blank wall he was staring at so Tsukishima was just being petulant and grumpy.
âI would ask how he managed to do that but honestly? Â Iâve met Yoshikawa.â
âHence you understand my misery.â Â Tsukishima sighed and rubbed his nose against his arms before finally turning to look up at Daichi. Â âNot that I donât want you here or anything. Â But what are you doing here? Â I thought you had classes for another few hours?â
âMisery loves company?â Â Daichi grinned at him. Â Then he dropped it when Tsukishima simply raised a brow at him, unimpressed. Â âTanaka was having one of his not so great days yesterday and I wound up staying up with him until not quite four and completely missed my alarm and my first three classes of the day so I just emailed all my professors and told them I would be out today.â
Tsukishima hummed and buried his face into his arms. Â Daichi reached over and ruffled Tsukishimaâs hair, getting distracted by the curls at the nape of his neck for a minute. Â Which is why he didnât notice Oikawa until he slid into the booth across from them.
âDo you two have to be so,â Oikawa fluttered his fingers in their direction, âPDA all the time?â
Tsukishima snorted. Â âJust because you-â
âTsukishima,â Daichi warned.
â-are jealous and lonely and refuse to share with anyone even when they offer doesnât mean you get to just take it out on the rest of us when you have a shit day.â
Oikawa stared down at Tsukishima, eyes wide and head tilted to the side in a way that reminded Daichi of a curious kitten. Â His cheeks were flushing and Daichi wondered if Tsukishima was finally getting under Oikawaâs skin. Â It would be about time. Â Honestly. Â Tsukishima had been trying to wear Oikawa down practically since the first day they bumped into each other at university.
âCan I go order something to drink,â he asked suddenly, startling Oikawa out of his contemplation and making his cheeks flush even more, âor will you two be at each otherâs throats the moment I step away?â
âI wonât go anywhere near his throat without his consent,â Tsukishima teased. Â Daichi was quite certain he was aiming for seeing how red he could get Oikawa to turn in a half hour or less. Â He was also quite certain that if this was the way the rest of the afternoon was going to go he was going to need some strong coffee to deal with it.
âJust donât kill each other or get kicked out before I get back, okay?â Â He squeezed the back of Tsukishimaâs neck and gave Oikawa a smile before he got up.
âNo promises,â Oikawa said airily despite the fact his cheeks were the color of ripe cherries now.
Daichi rolled his eyes and left them in the booth to sass and flirt with each other; after the last couple days he needed his coffee.
