Truthfully, Marlene had to admit that she was rather grateful Lily had managed to convince her to leave the confines of their apartment for the evening. Originally she hadn’t planned on attending. The lack of will she processed to even attempt passing meaningless conversations with strangers, to suffer the lingering stares and the whispered comments was frankly no existent. She was tired, exhausted from facades she held no delight in up-keeping. Truly, she’d thought people had better things to do than to bother over months old trauma. Clearly she was wrong. But she’d had time, time was really all Marlene had needed to gather herself and heal old wounds. Perhaps yes she was in a better place, but that never meant the scar vanished. Thankfully, she’d barely had a moment alone though. Surrounded by friends, Lily was of course right like she normally was; it had been what she needed. “Lil-” The witch spoke spotting her best friend again and ultimately moving to link arms with her. “What do you say, can I convince you to down another two shots of giggle water with me and indulgence in a bit of ‘tasteless’ dancing? I think if I have to spin around again in another waltz I might just keel over from boredom.” @oh-evans
