Rules: List 7 films you watch for comfort.
(Note: Asking me to list only 7 of anything is like asking me to do somersaults down the middle of I65 during rush hour. I would gladly do it if it was possible, but alas, itās not. Therefore I give you the following list of quite a few more than 7. I had to cut myself off because...well, MOVIES. I mean, come on. I watch ten a day. Sorry. I also added commentary on some. Bite me.)
1. Gifted Chris Evans. Lots of comfort in that alone.
2. The Beautiful Fantastic Ā Lovely, quirky romantic little film. Andrew Scott is adorable.
3. Love Actually Ā This movie broke my heart but then put it together again.Ā
4. Saving Grace An older film. Does anybody remember when Craig Ferguson was actually young? Before he was a talk show host? Yeah, back then. One of the funniestĀ āstonedā scenes ever.Ā
5. Miss Potter What can I say? Iām a sucker for anything about Beatrix Potter (despite the atrociousĀ āBritishā accent, the rest is sweet and lovely)
6. Local Hero Another quirky oldie, beautiful Scottish scenery, lots of beautiful weird characters. One of my all time faves.
7. The Butcherās Wife Before anybody starts ragging me about Demi Moore, let me just say that sheās actually somewhat likable in this role. Her accent is for shit and sheās dumb as a box of hair, but theĀ
oh hell itās a stupid movie but I really like stupid, dumb, bad movies. Okay?
If youāre a stickler for rules you can stop here. I shall carry on regardless.Ā
8. The Accountant Violent, bloody, starring Ben Affleck. Not comforting at all. But it makes me feel good for some reason.Ā
9. House of Flying Daggers Gorgeous film. Sad, depressing. But anything with Takeshi Kaneshiro in it, when he was young, is comforting to me. Check out Returner if you can find it.Ā
10. The Music of Strangers Documentary about YoYo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble. Nobody could watch this and not be comforted.
11. Only Lovers Left Alive And no, not because of Hiddleston. Just a strange, beautiful film. Ā
12. The Birdcage Over-the-top Robin Williams (I love the French version too) It just makes me feel good to watch.
13. A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night Umm...this choice should tell you a lot about me. It has a happy ending? Sort of?Ā
14. The Black Stallion Yeah, I had all the books when I was little. Gorgeous movie. Same feelings evoked.Ā
My list goes on (and on and on) but I will force myself to stop here.Ā
Iām sure most everyone has been tagged by now, so...anybody who wants to play, jump in.Ā
