And I absolutely do! I'm not great at actually. Writing the stories, but I do have characters and plans!
In Masitochia, Jashuma Iterilit is the youngest scion of a dying noble house of a nation rapidly moving on from the old nobility- but more importantly he can see ghosts, interact with the fading magic of the supernatural like no one else of his time is capable of! And the ghosts are whispering about a looking calamity that he will be responsible for saving. (Alongside other characters like Hik Lasok and Penance!)
And in my sci fi setting, Daia is a pretty simple woman living in a rural town on the icy planet of Ogalo. She mostly fixes heaters and repairs vehicles- hell, she even worked on a few breach drives! She hasn't gone into space herself, at least not for long enough to really get a grasp of how vast the universe is. She just knows a few small pockets of an obscure, relatively poor planet. That is until pirate raiders snatch her from her home to make her repair their station and she experiences the terrifying thrill of everything happening in space, barely surviving and fighting back against the pirates until she's rescued at the last second. After the rescue, she finds herself for the first time, safe in space. She's cared for by a kindly alien man named Deji, and she sees the utter beauty of space like never before. After that, there's simply no way she can ever return to the quiet life she'd known. She joins the crew of the ship that saved her, lead by an enigmatic figure, and adventures ensue from there :3
