You know you learn alot about life once the body hits its 20s and its fucking rough.
We've learned so much about ourselves that its really scary to think about how much we have changed. We never used to have a word for being a system, Caedda never knew he was trans, and we never really knew our sexuality and gender as a whole.
We could never really explain what we were going through because we never had the words. We dont feel dumb anymore (maybe on occasion lol), we dont feel insignificant, and we dont feel like a void most of the time.
We know who we are as the Colony. We do not know who we used to be (we dont really remember anything from before the age of 17 except for bits and pieces tbh and back to like before 12 is a blank slate), we only really know bullet points so we can be the host, and thats okay. Who we were dosent matter. We are figuring this shit out to be the Colony not who they say we are.
We are getting better, we are making things right, and we will make it through this. We are smart, we are good, we are functional, we are talented, we are beautiful, and most of all we are a person, we are people. No amount of trained self hate and self criticism can make us forget this now. No words that are said by others that get repeated over and over in the back of our head can break us down completely.
We just have to remember that.
Sorry, we just wanted to write this down somewhere. We had to affirm it, and sometimes when you feel like you need to be self affirming other people need to hear it too.
You are a person, you are a people, you are good, you are beautiful, you are smart, you are functional, you are talented, and you are so much more.
The sky is in all of our eyes, and we mirror the brightness of the sun and moon and stars.
Nobody can take this away from us, no matter our backstorys, or origins. We are valid and we will get through this.
