Aquamarine swore she heard the sound of someone running along the bottom of the ship along the stairs.  Groaning loudly, the tiny gem put the ship on Autopilot as she flew down and looked around to see what it was.  It wasn’t Rose Quartz, since she was being restrained by Topaz.  But what else could it have been?

        He needed to find Lars.

    He couldn’t leave without Lars.

            Steven wasn’t entirely sure HOW the Crystal Gems had made it to Homeworld, but he thought he’d caught something about Peridot and the Galaxy Warp before he’d sprinted away to try to find his friend, adrenaline forcing his bruised and aching body forwards down the long winding corridors before him. 

            It didn’t take too long for Steven to brush past some Quartz guards to reach the holding cells, though it didn’t seem like Lars was in any of them, at least, not until he got to the end of the corridor, and he hesitated. He couldn’t see into this room, so there was no guarantee, but... he needed to try.

           Slapping his hand against the control pad, the door slid open with a soft whoosh, and Steven peered into the room, hopeful.

       Lars was still on the ship.

   It had taken Steven a while to find out, but now it was out in the open, and    Steven could only curse himself for not realizing sooner. He should have noticed!    He should have done something earlier to ensure ALL of his friends were safe!    He’d done this for them, to protect them, and now... 

   Watching Aquamarine and Topaz silently for a moment, Steven noted they    weren’t paying much attention, and quietly, he crawled over to Lars, heart    twisting painfully in his chest. This was all his fault... He needed to get Lars    home but.. how could he do that? He’d given up hope of seeing Earth again    the minute he got on this ship.
