“someone calling someone else ‘stupid’ isn’t cause for calling an ambulance, ryden.”

          “….your answer is in your question. but also– there’s nothing an ambulance can do to save you from that. they’re just gonna call you a dumbass.”

          “…..ry– ry, why are you like this.”

“it’s good to see they get along, isn’t it?” josh hummed, smile on his lips & peace in his heart. he worried sometimes - there weren’t many dogs left alive & luna only had humans for company. not that they didn’t love her, a normal, living dog was a miracle to most, but she should have dog friends, too, right? 

       “i know, ry, i know—- and i– god, i really don’t tell you this enough, but–” one hand ran through her hair before she could manage the smallest of heartfelt smiles. it took all she had not to let the tears fall right then and there in the process. “i appreciate you and everything you do so much. you tell me this sort of thing all the time, but– but i really need to let you know the same thing. you put up with me sleeping until four in the afternoon. with my need for a ride to get places when you’re not busy ‘cause i still don’t trust my own ability to get my own license yet. just— there’s so much, and i really don’t tell you enough.”
