Captain Swan Fanfic Review ↪ Only for One Night
Fic of Choice: Only For One Night written by michellemtsu (tumblr link here)
Status: Complete (22 chapters)
Plot: Finding herself betrothed to the son of the Dark One, the young princess Emma takes fate into her own hands when she welcomes the ominous Captain Hook into her bed chamber. Wanting to have say in at least one thing in her life, Emma finds herself in a whirlwind of trouble, adventure, and love.Â
Overview: I love this fic. I love it. And I don't mean that in way to get you to try it, I have literally read this story well over twenty times and have the linked saved on my phone for days when I need a good read or if I want something familiar. It's fantastic. The character for wonderful, both Killian and Emma are amazing; the author took the chance to make them different in this universe, but also keep the things that made them who they were.Â
The background characters are fantastic; both Snow White and Charming are adorable and are just as much in love as they are in the show. Smee is adorable, and Rumpelstiltskin is the evil bastard you love to hate. Even the original characters, such as Emma's maids and Killian's fellow pirates make a great addition to the story, as well as some other members of the fairy tale world, such as Ariel, Mulan, and Tinkerbell.Â
The only thing I will stress is that this story is highly sexual. I don't think there is a chapter that goes by that doesn't have at least a bit of sexual contact in it. If that is what you're looking for, then this is the holy grail for you, my friend. However, if you're looking for a more T or even G rated story, I still suggest you stay and skip over the sex. You're missing out on the goof stuff, but the plot is worth it.
Things I liked: Everything. Emma's story was beautiful and her magic and how she uses it is enough to make me want more. Killian's back story is heart breaking and the way he feels towards Liam is enoguh to rip my own heat out. Milah does not exist in this story, and it takes place ten (eight? sorry, I am terrible with little details) after Killian becomes Captain Hook. Obviously there is no Milah, so the author comes up with a very liable way for Killian to lose his hand. Everything about this is adorable, and sexy, and fun.
What I disliked: Honestly, nothing. Perhaps the only thing that made me a bit eh with it was that the author featured Neal/Baelfire to be this very whiny, brat of a man who did everything his father told him. In the end, he redeems himself and he is only in the story for three . . . maybe four chapter at most. This is just a personal preference; I happen to be a big Neal/Baelfire fan (hate me if you want to -- no cares), so that is just me, but again, he's not involved with the complete plot, so that comes and goes.Â
Final words: Read the story. If you haven't read it already, read it. And if you have read it, read it again because it's literally everything. By far the best story I have read based on this couple. The author has said she would work on a sequel, and it's absolute torture waiting for it. It's worst than waiting for A Change In The Weather to update! (Shout out to my fellow Kurtbastian fans!) Anyway, that is all I have to say. Check it out. It has everything; adventure, fun, sex, romance, and most importantly, a happy ending -- something all fairy tales deserve.
Final rating: 11/10 diamond studded swans.
