Had it been quite this bad before? That was something Tarrant had been asking himself more and more lately; but this time, he was sure it was getting worse. Even he wasnât sure what had brought it on - but almost without warning, his mind had darkened, green eyes fading to orange and then to red. He could almost feel the heat of flames, hear the screams of his people and the roars of that terrible creature.
Acting purely on instinct in his fit of madness, the Hatter lashed out, Outlandish curses tumbling from his lips. It wasnât until after he had destroyed his workshop that he finally came to, and found himself having sank to the ground with his back against the wall. Fabrics had been torn, tools thrown here and there; and at the sight of crimson staining his sleeves he was suddenly very aware of the fact that his hands had been cut open in the process.
However, he didnât register any pain just yet; he felt numb. Tarrant barely noticed as he got to his feet, stepping around the mess he had made and leaving the door wide open as he wandered out into the hall. He stared blankly at the ground as he walked; what time was it? How long had he spent sitting there? It couldâve been seconds, it could have been hours; he truly didnât know.
He wasnât sure how long he spent walking either, but when he finally looked up, he knew exactly where his feet had led him. A hand lifted to knock at her door, though it was more of a gentle tapping. His gaze now focused on his fingers; stained by mercury, and now by his own blood as well. Had his hands been shaking quite this hard the entire time? Think, Tarrant.

As her fingers twitched over the parchment, Mirana stared blankly at the movements of the illustrations of the Frabjous Day. She may have gone over the Oraculum at least a dozen times that moment as she could not sleep a wink since she had acquired it. Before she would go over it again, she heard faint tapping on her door. She placed the Oraculum back on her desk and glided over to the door, opening it. A small smile curved her lips seeing Tarrant there. However, it immediately faded as she saw his hands were covered in blood, crimson flowing heavily.Â
âGood heavens, Tarrant! What happened?â She cried, gently pulling him into her room, shutting the door immediately. She ran over to gather her medical supplies, taking a rag and pouring a bottle of potion over and applying it to Tarrantâs wounds. There must have been several deep cuts slashed into his palm. She held back tears, knowing how much pain he should be but she continued to clean his wounds, the potion halting the bleeding. She hoped the magical lavender was soothing him a bit.Â
