the flinch comes without thought. a QUICK MOVEMENT of muscles in reaction to the words that are spoken without guard. so easy do they flow from her lipsââ itâs aWONDER how she could stand so tall and not wither with theIMPLICATIONS they held.
here legolas finds himself in need or more wine. back quickly turning to avoid theAWKWARD silence that had come to pass in but a few seconds. his hand once steady now shakes with anAFTERSHOCK as her statement once more collides with his thoughts.
merry had they been in conversation, only for it to QUICKLY turn into something so profoundââ so TENSE.
a quick pull of the goblet to his lips finds a dry throat. for legolas is stalling. inDESPERATE need to find the right words to speak to her, but also in such short supply of time. he did not want her to think that he was AVOIDING THE QUESTION, but he most certainly did not want to find place within these feelings.
never had he expected to be questioned about the subtle change within theirFRIENDSHIP. once long ago did they chase each other through the forest. tauriel far younger in age and mind. though he found her companyENJOYABLE he never expected any sway in his feelings other than that ofAMITY.
but lo and behold his affectionsWAVERED. finding the beauty in the way that she grew into a strong elleth. making excuses to be within her own guard when she was called for patrol. even so much as SEEKING HER OUT to claim her time during festivities.
â i am sure he meant nothing by it. â
DETERMINED not to stray further into unknown territory, legolas bites back the words he wishes to speak and instead keeps his emotions within the SHADOWS. now is not the time to be acting upon any sort of concern for their own feelings. a shadow was moving unto their lands and with the arrival of the dwarves, it seemed their time would be best spent elsewhere.
Tauriel frowned to herself as he finally spoke. She knew that was not the truth- King Thranduil had most certainly had his intentions in the matter- to keep her from leading his son on in thoughts of a chance between the two of them. He would never condone such a union- his son to a lowly silvan such as herself.Â
âSo you deny his suspicions?â She pressed slightly more, wanting to put the matter to rest. If he truly denied his fathers claims, then she too would put aside the fondness that she dared to feel inside toward the older elven male.Â
Theyâd grown together, for many passing years- from traipsing about and chasing each other through the forest, to training together and learning to wield the weapons on which they relied so upon in the midst of battle. And somewhere, throughout the years theyâd spent, a deeper fondness had found itâs way unto her, bestowing greater feelings upon her for the prince.Â
âHe made clear that nothing would come of such fondness- if he were to have any say in the matter. That is, if such feelings were indeed present.â She added, after several moments more, green hues dropping to linger upon the disturbed surface of her beverage. She meant not to bring about an issue- she simply grew ever more curious after the subject had been brought up to her. She dared not reveal her own emotions- for fear of making a fool of herself, though at the thought, guilt washed over her. She had placed the prince under the spotlight, which brought yet another frown to her features.Â
âForgive me, heruamin. I have overstepped my boundaries..â She dismissed the subject, quickly drinking down the remainder of her wine. She was most certain to need another multiple glasses to excuse the flush of her face.Â
