What does your polity do to fulfill their responsibilities to the area and people they represent? What sort of responsibilities do they put on themselves to achieve outside of official work? Roderich feels first and foremost a sense of duty to prolong and proliferate anything involved with his own people’s culture. He heads the Austrian Federal Monuments office to mark and help preserve any distinct landmarks and items of historical or cultural significance. Although he rarely leaves his own borders, he frequently travels within them to check in on and participate in festivals and traditions going back centuries and is quite proud of such. Outside of that position, he is very frequently an unnamed patron of up and coming arts and classical music students, paying for their tutelage so that they can both participate in traditions and innovate as they see fit. Although he may seem rather quiet, if he received more visitors they might actually he is only in Vienna every few days with his interests held in each of his nine states’ capitals. Occasionally one may also find him speaking with his own people who feel a sense of ease and trust around him even when they do not recognise him for what he is. This has earned him some success in defusing stand offs between fugitives and police as well as other high stress situations. //

Age: 18; They appear incredibly young both physically and in their childish, naive behavior.
Occupation: Caelan is a farm kid, born and raised. They love the pigs that occupy the area around Mud Hole, but are far too attached to their two sheep. Their primary responsibilities consist of tending to the animals, helping Maia with Herc and housekeeping, and protecting the homestead from intruders.
Inventory: Weapon-wise, Caelan carries a simple metal baseball bat. They have few personal items- not out of preference but for the plain fact that they have very little.
Quirks: They have few skills in ranged weaponry or firearms, and considers them to be more or less useless once bullets eventually go extinct. They’re determined to repopulate the world with the last two sheep on earth.
Appearance: Standing at 5'2", Caelan is quite the stout being. They aren't much to look at beauty wise, but they may be one of the healthier looking folks in this situation. Cae is still rather soft around the tummy, and pleasantly fit. Their dress consists of warm pants, rain boots perfectly suited to the Mud Hole's terrain, and whatever sweaters they're able to salvage or even make from what little wool the sheep provide. Curly hair grown out of control, they rely on Maia and a pair of rusty scissors to keep it a messy chin length mop.
Personality: As stated numerous times, Caelan is one of those youth who is too friendly, too trusting, and too happy for their own good. They're able to find the positive in most situations and keep both their head up as well as the folks around them. Cae is a determined kid, and focuses not only on basic survival, but dreams of an actual quality of life. There are times when this optimism falters though, and one strong emotion is overpowered by another. They may be quick to let past events rush into their memory, causing them to shut down or become overwhelmed. And their warm, welcoming attitude sometimes invites nothing but trouble. The faults of being too emotionally invested show clearly in this one.
Talents & Abilities: They’ve earned the title of the Mud Hole’s top pig wrestler. Caelan has dedicated their time to raising and maintaining livestock for their little makeshift family. Don’t be fooled though, this quirky little kid has a knack for kicking ass. A life of hard work prepared them for the struggles following nuclear destruction. Well, most of them. An unusually friendly face among rouges and ruffians, Caelan may prove to be a surprisingly skilled negotiator.
History: Caelan grew up outside the towns on a family-owned farm. Their family was rather poor, so they learned quickly to become familiar with the people of the towns in order to earn a quick buck doing chores and odd jobs. A favorite client and neighbor was young housewife Maia, who they enjoyed spending time with, helping around the house and earning a hot meal here and there.
They lost their parents in the disastrous events two years past. With nowhere to go and no family to rely on, Cae spent a couple short months in the wilderness surviving on their own, struggling to process the... the apocalypse. It was when they crossed paths with their old friend Maia, scarily far along in her pregnancy, that they forced down the fear and panic and settled on a partnership of survival and companionship. It was a rough adjustment, but with a small support network, Caelan is able to almost thrive in the new environment. It’s not as if they had much before the world ended.
