LOOK, i think I ship them a LOT more towards modern era but, I still get why alexander fell for her -- like, she was helpless and that was ALWAYS a THING for him. I don’t really like his treatment of her in canon -- NO not at all but, I think a part of him truly cared for her. He WAS the worst thing to happen to her but, in my mind? She was the kind of woman who was his equal in a LOT of ways. SO, in a LOT of ways I DO ship it but, it has to be in selective eras & done in a certain way.

Lafayette already had a whole speech planned out, he was not the type to go into something blind, especially when that something could very easily be Philip Schuyler opening that door.
