it's so simple but: just say no. the sky isn't going to fall, you're not going to lose respect, people will never be as mad at you as you fear, and you will never be braver than when you do it. the more you do it, the less courage it takes. make it a routine to say no! i quickly established a reputation in my team at work that i am so resounding in my no's that i am frequently asked by them or other colleagues how i do it
