Ren-Fest prep has begun! I couldn't find a utility belt I loved so I went through my fabric, ribbon and beads then picked up a few odd bits. Time to design! #prep #renissancefestival #renfest #sewing #oddsnends #fairy #faery #utilitybelt
Odds and Ends
Can’t believe it’s been over a week since I’ve written. I wish that wasn’t the way it was. This time, it’s a healthy reason, because I’ve been busy, not funking. I did have one funk day, but that’s not bad overall.
Life has just been full.
Work became really good this past week. It sure takes a lot of time! I’ve lost many of then hours that I used to process my life by thinking. That’s what I do. I think. Sometimes I over think, that’s true. Not so much, now that I have a new part time job.
My job improved greatly this week. Couple of factors. The biggest one is that I have a desk, an office, a place to work. I still don't have a computer, but am using my own. I managed to get quite a few things accomplished this week and have home visits set up for next week. I’m actually excited. I also was validated by some co-workers who shared that they had heard such good things about me and were so glad that I was on board with them. That felt so good and was perfectly timed, as I was inundated with self doubts. I still have quite a few in service trainings, but even those are almost complete. Plus, yesterday was payday:)
i’ve had some fun times too. Watched the movie The Notebook. Was surprised because I always thought it was sad. And in so many ways it was, but their love was so rich. So remindful of the love that Mart and I shared. I actually got hooked on the movie while I was at the nail shoppe getting a pedicure and manicure, which were wonderful!!! The movie intrigued me so, I stopped at the library on the way home and checked it out.
I also got to spend some time with my Kurily Family with a family game of cribbage. It was so nice to be with my brothers in law and my sisters in law. Had such fun. I always smile, because Mart would be so surprised and pleased that I am participating in car playing; AND having fun!!! They are so kind to help me time and time again as I can’t remember the rules; and even when I threw in a crib by mistake, it was okay. Well, not okay, but okay. Hard to believe I played cards for three hours:)
I also got a massage. Totally awesome.
I got to have dinner with Faith and Brian on their second anniversary. And to celebrate Brian’s birthday. It was fun to cook my famous meatloaf and homemade mashed potatoes and brownies too. Oh yes, jello too. Nice!!
I went to a play at Meadowbrook Theatre last night with girlfriends. It was so good. Calendar Girls. I love the theatre. I think I was the loudest person to laugh. It was so good. Am thinking about seasons tickets for next year. It’s a good place to be. So much less expensive than the Fisher or Fox and good quality acting. So enjoyable. The other good news is that I am going to a play with Faith at the Fisher, SOUND OF MUSIC, my favorite ever. We got main floor tickets with dinner at Marios and a shuttle service. I can’t wait for it.
Writing Group continues to be a highlight in my life. Two weeks ago, I took in a piece about being in a funk; this week I did my editing and a re-write of Chapter One of my book. Hard stuff to re-write because it’s the “death” chapter. This group is SO encouraging to me because it makes me believe I actually can and will write my book. I have nine chapters written so far, in one stage or another.
My lunches or dinners with friends has slowed down some, because of working. Am hoping that when the in service trainings end, that my time will open up, at least on my days off; I’ve had difficulty connecting because of my limited availability.
Things are going on in regard to my spirituality. Good things. Will write more on that.
This weekend, I have a baby shower and a birthday party. Then it’s work days and then I go to New York for Easter for a few days. Bringing H back for famous Nonnie Camp:)
Thankful for my upbeat demeanor. Thankful for the many ways I see God in my life.
A few odds and ends pictures!
