Another mostly-clear day, the Peninsula in particular showing different coloration on the mountains, the City and Bay Bridge sparkling as they do. No sign of Karl yet, even lower low-tide than the last video. I tried to key into the chattering of all the sea and shore birds…a huge gaggle of seagulls, and the chirping of the smaller birds…everybody scouting for their lunch, it would seem. The actual waterline so far out that the tiny ship-generated whitecaps are barely visible.

Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9:22am SUPER-LOW Tide Bay Break
Another gorgeous morning, The City and The Peninsula sparkling across the water, Karl the Fog looming in the background, beginning to swallow the view.
I've been wanting to capture our shoreline at our super-lowest tide levels, and this morning I had my chance. You can see that when the tide is at its lowest, you could literally walk nearly all the way across to Bay Farm (the development on the left-hand side of the panorama).
The shoreline at this point becomes property of The Birds, who swoop in in large groups to peck at the newly-exposed sand to find their breakfast.
Quite a different picture from the "King Tide" videos, isn't it? The Bay is literally only a couple of feet deep until you get about 100 yards from shore, then it drops off, thus the high of the highest tides and low of the lowest tides are greatly exaggerated.
