Hello Tumblr! Yesterday I was thinking about an OctoLizard idea, and I decided to write something for it. I hope you all enjoy it!
BEEP BEEP BEEP A digital alarm clock blared signifying that it was morning. Otto slowly reached out his hand to turn the thing off. As the blaring stopped Otto brought his hand to his face; rubbing the bridge of his nose he sighed. His hair was disheveled and his eyes sunken in.
“Another sleeplessness night. What could be better?” Sounding frustrated, Otto makes his way out of bed and gets himself ready for the day.
Throwing on a sweater, sweatpants, and brushing his teeth Otto entered his living room, and made his way towards the kitchen. He got himself a glass of water. Taking a big glup, he set the glass down. Otto blinked. His eyes moved towards the window in the kitchen.
“Maybe…. maybe I should go out today. Seems nice enough.”
Otto made his way to the front door. The door knob of the front door turned as the door opened. Otto made his way out. The sunlight on the snow pierced his eyes as he his eyes tried to adjust to the change in his surroundings. Making his way down the front steps, he started walking.
Walking down the sidewalk, Curt picked up his phone. No response. he thought. He put his phone back into his pocket, and sighed. “Otto…” He continued to walk, making his way towards the nearby park. It’s been weeks since Curt last heard from his friend. He basically disappeared ever since “The Incident.” Otto has never been known to just disappear. Curt knew this, and it worried him. He knew something was wrong. Reaching the park Curt stopped walking. He looked at the surrounding scenery when suddenly he noticed something, or SOMEONE! Otto was just a few feet away walking forward.
Hearing his name Otto turned around. It was Curt. He was making his way towards him. Otto, shocked, looked back forward and began to run getting faster each second. Curt followed Otto, doing his best to keep up with him. Otto kept running until we was suddenly pulled back and stopped. He looked around to see Curt holding onto his hand.
“Curt? Why are you - please let go! I have somewhere to be!”
Curt wouldn’t let go. He kept holding on.
“Otto. Where have you been? It’s been almost a month since we’ve last seen you. It’s not like you to disappear like that! We’ve been worried about you! ……. I’ve been worried about you.” Still holding on, Curt’s eyes start to well up as he looks at friend still trying to escape his grasp.
“You don’t need to worry about anything! I’m fine! Please let me go!” Otto smiles, his mouth twitching as he does so. Feeling the fear and distress radiating off of Otto, Curt comes closer and holds his friend tightly. Otto’s face turns red as he is caught off guard. What does he do? What does he say?
“Otto. It’s okay. Please. You don’t need to hide anything. I’m here for you.” Hearing Curt’s soft voice, Otto’s eyes well up with tears. He buries his face into Curt’s chest and cries.
