She bit her lips, preventing a smile from forming on her face, and searching for his reaction. Yn would always do that. Read the room, and fit in just like a puzzle piece would. Maybe that's why everyone fell in love with her so quickly. Because though she could read and fit, she still kept her essence. Mick could only follow her reactions, smile lazily starting on the corner of his lips when the wind made her dress twirl, and her loud giggle was heard. It was mesmerizing. She was so beautiful. The city was so beautiful. She filled in every space. She was the main character, every little thing seemed to work around her, for her, because of her.

Maybe that's why it didn't work, he thought.

Maybe that's why he was reminded of it the second he reached for the woman in front of him only for her to turn and smile politely. Not giddy, not knowingly, but politely, the way you smile when a cute stranger mistakes you for someone else.

That wasn't Yn, thought that was her city.

And just like that Mick was not himself too. He was the shell of a man who once loved and was loved. A man who would see his beloved in everyone and everything. A man who did not have any more.
