The full name of SBR is Safety Belt Reminder, which is a safety belt reminder device. This device is usually installed between the co-pilot driver's seat foam and the outer skin or between the foam and the bracket. Its function is to send an alarm when a passenger is sitting in the seat without a seat belt to remind the co-pilot driver and passenger to fasten their seat belts.

The working mechanism of the SBR pressure sensor is as shown in the figure below. When someone sits on the co-pilot driver's seat, the pressure signal will be transmitted to the SBR controller. At this time, if the passenger does not fasten the seat belt, the signal of the seat belt sensor will be transmitted to the SBR controller at the same time device, so that the car will immediately flash the safety indicator light and issue an alarm, and some automotive products will issue an alarm after the car reaches a certain speed.

Some friends will ask questions: Since the co-pilot driver seat needs to install this part, does the main driver's seat also need it? We know that when the car starts, there must be someone sitting in the main driver's seat, so there is no need to use pressure sensors to judge whether there is someone in the main driver's seat, and an alarm signal will be sent directly when the seat belt is not buckled. There is no need to install the SBR sensor in the driver's seat. Therefore, in the process of developing seat products, SBR is also called an occupancy sensor or a pressure sensor.
