“I love science,” Linksano sang as he worked. “And I love Rosalind Franklin Cause I wanna die remembering why The truth is more important than winning a prize There's nothing here to argue against It's a process not an ideology And I love science!”

With the last word, Linksano put down his soldering gun, pleased with a job well done. Now at least one room of the new rental house they all shared with Viga should have Nimue watching over it. He looked up at the camera in the corner and asked, “How’s that Nimue?”

“Information; I believe this unit is now integrated fully with this room. Thank you, Doctor. I felt very cramped with all of my consciousness trapped inside the Villante.”

“You’re welcome,” Linksano told her. “I’ll have you connected to the rest of the house in no time.”

“Information; I will run a diagnostic to make sure that no data was harmed during the integration of this until into the room.”

“Okay, see you later, Nimue,” Linksano said as she went quite to check all of her systems.

Linksano had been swamped with work recently. He was building a new spaceship from the remains of Comicron-1, building a security system for the new house and help integrating Nimue into the building. It would have been a much easier job if Linksano had his lab properly set up but most of his things were still in boxes. Not to mention the fact that half the equipment from the lab he’d had on Comicron-1 was now scattered across the moon since it was one of the rooms that had been utterly destroyed during the ship’s crash.

Still, Linksano loved a challenge and it was keeping him busy. He was more concerned by Linkara’s recent dramatic change in behaviour. Linksano knew that Linkara was under a lot of stress but Linkara had been getting very angry and paranoid recently. Linksano made a mental note to check that no outside force was affecting Linkara’s emotions. He’d lived with Linkara long enough to know that nothing was impossible.

“Hey, science guy who, with a bunch of other people, moved into my house along with Linkara, despite the fact that I still pay half the rent,” Viga called from the other room.

“Yes?” Linksano asked joining Viga in the room she recorded her reviews in, “And I pay my part by improving this house with SCIENCE!”

“Well I guess you’re right,” Viga said with a smile. “That toaster you made makes the best toast I’ve ever eaten and it even butters and put the spread of my choice on automatically.”

“Just one of the many ways that SCIENCE! can improve the most important meal of the day,” Linksano told her. “Anyway, why did you call me over? I have a whole house to protect from intergalactic and supernatural threats so I’ve kind of got my hands full at the moment.”

“Protecting the house is why I need your help, Doc,” Viga said. “This place has a major ghost problem and I’ve only got one cyclotron and partial condenser. Can you help me build another one for Linkara so that we can bust some ghosts this Halloween?”

“Of course!” Linksano said eagerly, his hands already itching to disassemble Viga’s ghost hunting equipment and see how it worked. Then a thought struck him, “Just out of interest, totally hypothetically, if I could bring one of your My Little Pony plushies to life, which one would you pick?”

Viga’s face lit up, happy to talk about one of her favourite shows, “Well Pinkie Pie is my favourite but Twilight Sparkle is like a walking encyclopaedia and if Applejack was around I’d never have to worry about heavy lifting again. On the other hand, Fluttershy’s just so kind and Rainbow Dash could make sure it’s always sunny. Rarity…”

“I’d just pick one,” a voice from the floor interrupted. Linksano and Viga looked down to see Eliza gazing up at them, “Otherwise you’ll be overrun with ponies.”

Linkasno grinned sheepishly, “It was going to be a Christmas present.”
