Angie had unfortunately been captured by the Venandi at some point and kept to be a testing specimen, ending up in Talan's lab eventually. She would have been just another forgettable vivisection in his mind after he logged her biological data otherwise. But luck smiled (or grimaced) down on her when Edix and Talan got into another one of their stupid arguments, ending with Edix betting that Talan wouldn't be able to keep a human alive even if he tried. And Talan, not wanting to let that fucker get the last word, decided to take him up on that bet out of pure spite.
