Adore: Chapter 2// a fresh start
— finally heres chapter 2(:
Every since that day in the park, Lily, Severus, and Corinne became inseparable. Corinne felt relieved knowing that she know had two best friends that had magic as well.
As they grew up together, their amazing bond only grey stronger. Corinne soon found out that Severus wasn’t a very outgoing person, but she always knew when Severus was happy. His dark eyes would always have a shimmer in them whenever he was around the two girls.
Years passed and it was finally time for the three children to begin their lives at Hogwarts. Ever since they were nine, Hogwarts was the only thing they could talk about. Lily and Corinne’s hearts were always set on Gryffindor. Severus knew there was no chance of him being in the same house as his two best friends, but he never told them that.
“We’ll meet up before we get on the train right?” Corinne asked for the third time that day. Although she was very excited to go to the new school, she was also very nervous.
“Yes we promise.” Severus assured her by giving her a small smile.
The three smiled once more and then headed back to their own homes to get ready for the big day.
——
“Are you sure I have everything mum?” Corinne questioned her mother nervously.
“Yes sweetheart.” Her mom laughed “We checked your bags three times already.”
Corinne giggled nervously, still thinking about how everything is going to change in the morning.
“Okay Corinne, you need to sleep so you’re wide awake tomorrow.” Her mom smiled, pulling Corinne’s blanket up to her chin.
She leaned down and kissed her daughter on the forehead and then turned off the lights as she walked out of Corinne’s bedroom.
Corinne stared at the ceiling for what felt like hours. All she could think about is Hogwarts. Would she meet new friends? Would her and Lily and Severus stay friends? Would she miss her parents?
After finally calming down, sleep took over her body in an instant. She closed her eyes and began dreaming about her new life in the school she’s been dreaming about for years.
———
“Corinne sweetie it’s time to go!” She heard her mother yell from the kitchen.
Corinne was wide awake at 5:30 that morning. She quickly pulled on the robes her and her parents bought at Diagon Alley and braided her hair.
As she ran out to the kitchen to meet her parents, she stopped right immediately causing her mother to give her a strange look.
Corinne turned on her heels and ran right back into her room feeling embarrassed that she almost forgot her owl that they had bought.
“Im sorry Maxwell.” She laughed at her beautiful snowy owl.
The owl chirped in response as she picked up the cage and continued back to the kitchen.
They arrived at Kings Cross in no time. Lily and Severus were already there waiting for Corinne just like they said they would. Corinne smiled as she ran to her friends and watched as her parents began conversing with Lily’s.
“Are you excited?” Lily asked her two friends.
“I’m very excited” Corinne smiled with excitement and watched as Severus did the same.
Soon enough, the train finally arrived and it was time to tell her parents goodbye. Suddenly all of Corinne’s excitement disappeared and was replaced by sadness. She slowly walked towards her parents and tried her best to make the tears that were building up in her eyes go away.
Her parents crouched down and held onto each hand.
“You’re going to be just fine Corinne. You’ll have such a fun time at Hogwarts just like we did.” Her father smiled and leaned in to kiss his daughters cheek.
“We’ll write every week okay? Everything will be okay” Her mother added in and kissed her other cheek.
Corinne smiled at her two parents and worked up enough confidence to tell them she loved them and then boarded the train.
She met back up with her two friends and the three children found a compartment to sit in. They looked out the window at their parents and waved as the train began to leave the station.
They continued to wave and yell goodbye until their parents were no longer visible. Corinne sat back in her seat and smiled at Lily and Severus.
They remained quiet for the first couple minutes. Corinne finally smiled as she thought to herself ‘Everything is going to change for the better.’
