So as previously said, I’m playing Oblivion (As Hiccup). I was playing Skyrim on the PS4, but it started glitching beyond playable (funny, but annoying).

So I switched over to my husband’s original copy of Oblivion for the XBox 360 from 2006. This is the game of the year edition that had The Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine DLC included on a second disc. In theory, you downloaded the DLC from disc 2 first, then when you put the game disc in, the content would load.

I asked my husband if he’d downloaded the content before and he gently grabbed my shoulders and looked me into the eye, deeply. “You listen here and you listen good. That DLC is cursed. It is a forbidden golden nugget that you and I were never meant to possess. I have spent hours and hours of my life trying to get that content to load, but it never would. It’s forbidden to me, you hear? I cannot, I shan’t go through that heartbreak again. Downloading it is a fool’s errand, one I cannot accompany you on.”

“Nor would I want you to,” I responded, gently caressing his face. “Your burdens are mine to carry, and so I shall embark on this noble quest and attempt what you could not. This time, I wield the internet, specifically Reddit, as my sword.”

He nodded gravely, “go then. If this is what your heart desires, I shall not stop you. But I pray you do not meet the same fate as I. You are in my prayers.”

Two days later, Hiccup’s in the Shivering Isles bay-beeee!
