Sims 2 Default Object Database (updated)
So, I've been working on this for.... oh god. probably months on and off. I wanted it to be more "complete" before I actually ~released~ it to the public, but my life has gotten a bit busy and I don't want to wait forever since a few people have mentioned an interest in other posts I've seen.
Anyways, as we all know, the Original Default Database has existed for years and years. But I think a few of us have noticed that it isn't exactly updated anymore. People leave the community, pages like dreamwidth get abandoned, etc.
So this was my personal solve to this.
Much like the Sims 2 Hair Database, this is a Google Sheets version of the default database. It is by and far still missing a ton of stuff. I am only one person. BUT much like the hair database, the plus with this is, that anyone can add or edit things on this version, so it's less likely to get abandoned if I get to busy and ghost yall.
Much like the Hair Database, there is a page on the end that's a "to-do list" of sites I know have defaults but I haven't gotten to yet, as well as each page being set up based on catagory in the build/buy catalogue. There is also a page that's labeled "non-catalogue" for things like food, handhelds, career objects, and other such things.
Anyways, feel free to DM me if you have questions. (Or for some ungodly reason want to waste your time helping me fill it out lol.)
Anyways, now that you've read this whole wall of text.... link for u.
TS2 Object Default Database (Sheets)
I tried to leave a comment on your post but Tumblr is dumb and has been eating them :-P Thank you for the new object default database! I had noticed too that the original one hadn't been updated in years. I have grand plans for a crapton of object defaults because my tastes in textures and colors are pretty specific, so if anyone can edit it I'll definitely be adding mine! :)
Ahhh... gotta love tumblr and it's ability to eat posts. 😂 Yes!! I have a lot of object defaults (from other people) in my game and reblogged, but it's hard to find them minus just cc reblog pages.
The sheet itself is editable by anyone (I have a backup just in case though lol... no worries) So if you make defaults and want to add them it's super easy, much like the hair database 😊I try to add ones as I reblog them, but I made it specifically so that it could be edited by the community to hopefully keep it more up to date than a singular blog might be (because I am notoriously inconsistent lol)
Thank you for all your hard work on the default data base, I use this resource all the time. Gina and I worked on the baby bottles and protein drink defaults together. You only have Gina's on the sheet. I did a quick copy paste and switch on the TV dinner. There is also Omglo's multi plate and bowl mod that I did not see. I have a few sets for that and I know others are out there. This is a similar concept to the default/recolourable baby bottle. https://joplayingthesims.tumblr.com/tagged/sims%202%20default https://joplayingthesims.tumblr.com/tagged/plates I hope this is the correct place to mention these, I am pretty hopeless at Tumblr. If you need to pm me back about any of these MTS works better for me. Jo
@joplayingthesims Thank you so much for your kind words!~
That being said, I can't really take all the credit. I set up the database, but for the most part it's a collaborative effort, so anyone can add their own (or other's they know of that are missing) to the database at any time. So most of it is other people adding things! :) A lot of the work I do is just rearranging or fixing missing links nowadays.
Thanks for letting me know about some that you've done that have been missed! I'll try to go through your links as soon as I can to add them when I have the time, but it may take me some time--so I'm going to post this ask publicly, so if someone else want to add them they can, or if you prefer them to be added immediately, you can also add them yourself in one of the boxes~ (I would have messaged all this to you on MTS, but frankly it's been like at least a year since I logged in and I can't remember my login password right now lol....)
Once again, I'm so glad that the database has helped people 😌 and thanks again!
