This morning I had the opportunity to go back to Oaklife Church, in Oakland. And we worshiped, we talked, and a few people got to share their story. And I have to share some of the things they said that made me go “woah.”
“I believed [others] could get better, but not me.”
“I wanted to die, because I knew it would be better than living like this.”
“I am incredibly and wonderfully strong.”
“I don’t know if I’ll ever be over this, and that’s okay.”
“Behind the struggle, is blessing.”
“I am not a victim unless I choose to be.”
“He was in my corner when no one else should have been.”
“When no one believed in us, we believed in each other.”
“God ruined my life, and I hope he ruins yours.”
“Find out how God has ruined you, and run there.”
It got me excited. Excited to see what stories God will give me. Excited for him to reveal the stories he has already given me. Excited to exist in this place of love that only God could create in me.
