Next Saturday, February 27th at 7pm PST, @LyricalAssembly is hosting another Sacred Sounds event, this time dedicated to Asian American storytelling. The event will include a Q & A conversation with @cathyparkhong , Korean-American author of “Minor Feelings: An Asian American Reckoning”. The event will also feature several spoken word performances from @lyricalopposition’s @_baileysf . Sacred Sounds: A Night of Asian American Storytelling This event comes at the conclusion of a separate Lyrical Assembly project, called “Reads for Resistance ''- a community reading group that is dedicated to reading books by BIPOC authors. This past month we have been reading Minor Feelings: An Asian American Reckoning by Cathy Park Hong As our group has been reading and learning about the Asian-American experience through Minor Feelings, we wanted to dive deeper into learning about the complexities of being Asian-American, and deepen our understanding of how to walk in solidarity with Asian-American communities. With this event, we hope to provide an intentional space for listening, learning, and healing. Event will be moderated by @l.mn123 our Program Director, and @calimedoc our Diversity, Inclusion, and Faith coordinator.
