๐ต๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ช๐ถ๐ ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐พ๐ธ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐น This was a long time in the making, not because it took me a long time to make, but because i had to wait a long time for the oak due all that has been going on in the last few months. - I was asked by a really lovely cornish lady, if i could make an easel picture stand suitable for a one off resin & ply picture. - Air dried oak was my timber of choice, i wanted to make it a little different to the โnormalโ easels you see, so shaped the legs and came up with an idea for the hinge and to also to not have a chain or string to keep the legs from opening any further than needed. - I used a brass counter flap hinge,sourced from Ironmongerydirect, set in on the underside, which although not immediately visible, looks nice i think & provides a strong hinge point. I set the hinge in a bit lower down, shaped and angled the tops of the legs so that when opened, the top sections meet and thus cannot open any further. This posed a couple of headaches! One was working out the angles for it to all work, the second was to get it all together and to get the screws in! With the hinge on the underside i had to be mindful of how far the legs needed to open as well as having just enough clearance to get the screws in!
