                  he had some business to tend to down in ritou - thoma never minds the trip. he’s always welcomed when he visits, the locals know him from when he himself was stuck there after arriving in inazuma. the trade association greets him kindly, and he handles what he needed to in record time. he even stops for a quick bite to eat, before making his way back toward the estate. 

                 it’s nearing sun down when he gets closer to his destination, considering to himself that he’s made good time; he normally doesn’t come back before dark when he has to go to the docks. perhaps it’s fate that he comes by when it’s still light out, because he catches sight of someone by a tree off the trail. not just someone, he realizes as he comes closer - itto. 

                sure, they’ve never officially been introduced, but it’s hard to not recognize the guy. maybe it was the horns. he appears to be distracted, leaning hard against the tree trunk, “itto?” he asks for confirmation, “it’s me, thoma. from the kamisato clan?” upon closer inspection, he can’t help but note the sweat-slick sheen all over oni’s skin. the paleness about him. thoma’s brows set in concern. 

"Well, yeah. And I've done the first half of that several times."

               he remembers the name lawrence, among a few other things. it seemed whatever was a part of his life before his vision showed up could be recalled in small doses. even still, the memories are fuzzy. through a cracked looking glass. he knows of mondstadt, but he doesn’t know why the name is pertinent. still, it’s something, so he’s here. with a claimed member of the clan.
