this is the playlist i made when i first started working on this fic. i listened to it constantly while i was writing, though it's changed a bit as the fic itself evolved from the initial idea into what it is now. it follows the story in chronological order (aside from tess's section which is just an interlude before the end), from the happiness at the beginning, through the loss and grief, the longing, the heartbreak, to finally finding each other again. several of the songs actually match up with specific chapters, so you guys can have fun parsing that out. it's essentially a soundtrack at this point. i hope you enjoy! i think it's fairly easy to tell which songs are from the perspectives of which characters, but in case you're wondering how i've personally attributed them, the breakdown is under the cut:
