     Exiting the café, her coffee in her hand, Adeline was too focused on her phone and thus not really paying attention to anyone around her. Taking a quick sip of her coffee, she scrolls through the email that Jimmy had just sent her with some more information on their next job. Eyes glued to her screen, she didn’t notice the other person until it was too late. Bumping into the other with her arm, the coffee tipples over right onto her. Letting out a little yelp, Adeline’s attention quickly moves on from her phone and instead onto her now coffee stained clothes. Hot coffee even, to make things worse. “Ouch, ow - okay that’s one way to really wake up...” 

“Figures..” Shiloh muttered as she glanced down at her phone for probably the thousandth time in the last hour. Her date was now 45 minutes late with no response, her hopeful optimism wearing off entirely now as she motioned for the bartender to bring her another drink. “Honestly how hard is it to at least say ‘hey I’m not coming’ rather than just being a dickhead and standing someone up.” She spoke to no one in particular as she ran her fingers through her hair. “I knew I shouldn’t have wasted my night off on this.”

“The one time of year we act a little nicer, smile a little easier, and cheer a little more,” Scarlett said stirring the sugar into her fifth cup of coffee that day having needed the boost considering how long she'd been working and had just gotten off having come to the coffee shop to draw a little looking at the person sitting across from her. “But this weather can kiss my ass if you ask me.”

“mohito!” drew called as he gripped the glass. thinking for a moment, he turned towards the person sitting at the bar with a smile, “here’s the drink you ordered.”

     Placing a plate in front of another customer she quickly gives them a smile before turning around to get the next order from the kitchen. She’d only been at work in the diner for an hour and somehow it had already become her busiest shift in the past month. Finishing another order, she pulls out the notepad from her apron and walks over to the next booth where a person is already sat. “Hiya, what can I get you?” She asks, plastering her friendliest smile on her face.
