Hi friends. Over the last month or so the admins have brainstormed and started on a number of changes based off the feedback we received from you guys, and we wanted to write to give you an update about those efforts and the group's semi-hiatus status.

It seems we’re all, admins included, in a really busy ooc season of our lives. Lots of us are working multiple jobs, going to school, moving, etc. Your admins specifically are having a hard time, in the midst of all going on ooc, to maintain the workload associated with running this group, having multiple characters, and completing an effective revamp. We love this group and you all deserve a team who can put in all of the activity and effort required to keep this group running as it should, but none of the admins are at a place in our lives where we can dedicate the right amount of time and effort into making this rp the best it can be right now. With that being said, we are making the very tough decision to close NYC Blacklist for now.

We love all of these characters and relationships dearly, and when we're out of this busy period we may consider reopening with the new changes and without the pressure to make them under a deadline. If that point comes and you’re still interested in the group and the relationships and plots you’ve built over the last two years, we’d love nothing more than to have you back then.

The discord server will remain open for those who want to keep in touch, and we hope you do.  Some of you have been around with us for years and we'd be heartbroken to lose you completely. We still want to hear about your characters and any writing you might continue to produce on your own, so please also let this server be a place to share any independent writing you produce either about your Blacklist muses or others.

Hi friends! Apologies for back-to-back updates, but we’re recognizing that our recent updates/requests have come at the last minute and haven’t been super clear about the future of this group, what we’re asking of you, and the upcoming changes. We’re hoping this post will clear things up a little bit! 

Beginning today and through (tentatively) Sunday, March 13th, our entire group is on a semi-hiatus. You are welcome to continue with replies if you want to, but we will not be checking for activity, etc. Admins intend to use this time to implement changes and get all things sorted for when we “re-open.” You can consider this a mini “revamp.” We love you all and the characters you’ve created a LOT and we sincerely, sincerely hope you all will stick around while we do this.

As for the changes - we’re basing them off of the feedback we received in the survey we sent around about a week ago. That being said, before we put all of our effort into implementing them, we think it’s important that you guys have an opportunity to share your thoughts about what we’ve come up with. We want to make sure that these are changes that will excite you and inspire your muse. So... let’s talk. Read on and if anything you read sounds super exciting at first glance or conversely really rubs you the wrong way and makes you wanna leave, please let us know. This is still a work in progress. 

Some important (summarized) survey information so you know where we’re coming from: 

100% of respondents indicated they wanted a more structured plot with plot drops and an overarching narrative that gives characters a reason to interact in certain ways. We agree.

80% of respondents wish The Real Blacklist was a more focal part of the plot and was used more routinely to shake things up. 

Based on that (and more), here’s a summary of what we’d like to do:

The Real Blacklist

Introducing The Real Blacklist. Your character's best friend or their worst enemy, depending on their next move. Your characters are about to find themselves in a web of blackmail, resentment and deception whether it's thanks to someone right under their nose, or at the back of their mind.

We've been working on this blog and an updated plot for a little while now and we are finally ready to put it into action. Everything you need to know will be on the blog already, as well as on our (updated) plot page, so take a look around and let us know if you have any questions!

We'll be taking a few days away from the dash for Christmas and expect that you'll all be doing the same thing. We’ll still be on discord if anybody wants to chat, but otherwise, we’ll be back here on the main page on 28th December.

Hello friends! Hope we’re all doing well. We just wanted to thank you all for participating in our survey - it’s been really, really insightful and we have some really fun alterations in the works. Our first step in enhancing this group will be to include a few new features to our character bios, which we hope will help develop our plot and better create a divide between who is targeted by The Blacklist, who is working to expose those targets, and who will be collateral damage.

We're seeing that morale is a little low right now and lots of us are experiencing burnout, admins included. We're hoping to take your feedback and make some changes to make this a better experience for all and your feedback on this survey will help us do that.
