Gluten Free NutribixÂ
My delicious breakfast this morning. Served with Alpro Unsweetened Almond Milk, 1 apple, half a mango, lots of cinnamon and a bit of nutmeg sprinkled on top. Nom nom.Â
Everyone on the gluten free scene has been raving about Nutribix recently, the newly released gluten free alternative to Weetabix. So of course when I stumbled on these in Tesco, I had to try them and I wasn’t disappointed! I can’t remember the last time I ate Weetabix (it was many many years ago), but they’re quite close to how I remember them being. Especially the texture.Â
As it goes with most free from products, Nutribix is a bit pricy. With 24 in a box, it’s not too bad though. Even if they are small and the portion guide says 3, I find 2 is perfect for me as I like to add other things to my cereals anyway. So one box can provide 12 breakfasts.
I’m also happy to see that these are fortified. I have no idea why most free from products aren’t. Considering Coeliacs are prone to deficiencies (especially the newly diagnosed), it would make sense if gluten free products were fortified the same way a lot of ‘normal gluten foods’ like that are.Â
