i think the cruelest thing in the world is that emergency migraine meds are blister packaged. like you’re telling me that they expect a person with a migraine to spend several seconds trying to convince their motor skills to open a tiny little package??
I've been taking nurtec for chronic migraine for like 2 years or so now, every other day, and now it's impossible to wean off of. I ran out of it this week because my prior authorization didn't get renewed in time, and so I didn't get my dose yesterday morning, and by 7pm I had a headache. I still have a headache. It's... kind of a migraine. It's kind of not. It's making concentrating on anything very difficult.
I really can't recommend taking this as a preventative because it's so addictive, and no one is talking about how addictive it it. There's like nothing online about it. Nothing about withdrawal symptoms. Just "nurtec doesn't cause rebound headaches." Well it sure as fuck causes something.
Seriously just don't take it. Not every other day.
Took Nurtec for the first time last night during one of the worst migraines of my life.
I have zero pain today.
I'm not? Dizzy?
I can see Too Well.
I'm still slightly sedated despite sleeping 13 hours straight.
Fuck Debby the Hurricane. She sucked and I'm glad she's gone.
you know i keep that thang on me.

“Don’t take Nurtec if you’re allergice to Nurtec” ok but how am I supposed to find that out???

🛏️ NURSE! What's this "Nurtec"? 💊
💊 Nurtec is new. It's for migraines. It's extremely expensive — approximately $1,016 per prescription at local Albertsons and Safeway, $1,049 at Fred Meyer.
💵 You may pay as little as $1,016 with the GoodRx free coupon — even $991.08!😮
🗣️ GoodRx?? Good luck with that! 🤨
There are other migraine treatments (including relaxation, meditation, lying down and closing your eyes, eating right, regular exercise). You only have one head, one brain, and one wallet. Don't throw good money after super-pricey meds. Ask your doctor about alternatives to Nurtec.
The TV commercials are a result of Big Pharma DTC marketing. For years, the FDA prohibited "direct-to-consumer" pharmaceutical advertising, but it's profitable, so chances are the incessant ads are here to stay.
