Can I please DECIDE on an artstyle??

I have a lot OOH!!

First I feel like if they “dated” (yk.. the 13 yr old version of dating that’s just hand holding and saying ily) at camp they’d def sneak around yk.. like during the woodscouts games / challenges nurf and Edward would sneak off for a few minutes n stuff!! Or they’d meet up at night, like Edward riding a boat over to Campbell just so he and nurf can hang out.

I like to imagine they’re a fell first / fell harder with nurf slowly falling (begrudgingly because he finds Edward ANNOYING and STUPID but in that charming way) and Edward fell flat on his fucking face. Edward also tries to like convince himself he’s not crushing, he just REALLY wants nurf to be a woodscout!! Yes that’s it!! (No it’s not gayass)

I also like to imagine they’re kinda healing for each other? Like nurf we know in canon is a VERY lonely person, with not really getting along with the Campbell campers most times (for good reason tbh he literally bullies them LMFAO). I think the woodscouts would almost be a good outlet for him? Like they do a lot of physical activity and aren’t strangers to playing with literal weapons. I feel like Edward’s experience with running the woodscouts could help nurf out with his violent tendencies a LOT.

And nurf can also help Edward out with a lot of his insecurities. Nurf can be a very blunt person at times, whenever he truly means something he’ll just go ahead and fucking say it. He doesn’t really lie a lot when something is of value to him. So I don’t feel like he’d lie to Edward about how Edward looks. Like he’d tell Edward straight up that he finds him handsome. And Edward is very much a words over actions guy with how he acts with the woodscouts !!

I like to imagine they’d flow together really nicely because they’re kinda two sides of the same coin too. Both have been failed by a parent/guardian which has left them very independent but also not knowing how to cope healthily. Along with adapting personality traits that are damaging to others (Edward’s misogyny and self absorption and Nurfs whole bully personality).

They both also kinda seek guidance but never receive it well. Like Edward canonically seeked out Daniel’s approval and wanted for so long to believe Daniel wasn’t gonna hurt him or the scouts. But he was dead wrong because he wouldn’t allow himself to see the warning symbols. Nurf seeks out guidance figures in David and Gwen with his whole camp. While he didn’t sign himself up for it, he still expects results and to be helped within camp. Which doesn’t really happen due to how spineless David can be. Like Gwen and David are lowkey terrified of him.

I also like to hc that they’re both super awkward in the relationship. Edward because he’s never dated anyone and doesn’t know what 2 do. Nurf because his last relationship ended abruptly and he didn’t really know what he did! Also Edward is very easily flustered and Nurf totally enjoys teasing him about it. It takes a while for them to not be absolute dorks around each other!

A smaller hc of mine is that Edward has severe hearing loss and he wears hearing aids because of it. With that I feel like nurf would try his best to learn some basic sign. Like it’d take a while but he’d learn some basic things like I love you and other sayings!!

I also like to hc their relationship would be kept secret as Edward is in the closet super heavily until he’s like in his later teen years. The woodscouts kinda figure out almost right away that Edward’s seeing someone because he’s super off, but don’t figure out it was nurf until Edward comes out to them. And nurf I feel like would keep it from the Campbell campers for Edward. And he’d like be so obvious he’s keeping a secret but absolutely REFUSE to spill what it is.
