Chuck breathed fresh air. He hadn't breathed fresh air in a long time. Well, not human fresh air at least, so he'd missed it, had missed his freedom more than anything, though. He hadn't exactly been hurt or tortured, but kept prisoner for he didn't yet know how long.
The prophet -if he still was the prophet, his visions had stopped some time ago- didn't know where he was or why, but he was alive and on earth. The angel who'd caught him promised he'd never see earth again and still, here he was. He could even smell the stink of humans and nature around him. Something that never would've been possible in Heaven. Heaven was beautiful and calm -as long as there was no battle going on- but it wasn't ... real. He hadn't felt the wind on his skin, hadn't smelled his own stink or the grass beneath his feet. Nothing.
He made his way home. The first thing he did when he reached it a few days later was to frown at the amount of dust that covered everything, even his computer. He'd seen people touching the screens of their phones... how long had he been gone? What the hell was going on? Trembling and panicking on the inside, Chuck tried calling Dean and Sam, but nothing. "Oh, just great." he hissed, shaking his head as he stomped upstairs. First, a shower, then everything else.
The next days were relatively calm... until Chuck told Becky he was alive, via skype. Shortly after that, he realized he'd been an idiot to say something like that, out in the open, but nothing had happened so he didn't yet feel scared. He had the angel Raphael on his side anyway. He'd still have to protect Chuck, hadn't he?
A week later, Chuck had his answer. Demons.
Another week later, he'd been found by an angel, only that angel didn't exactly fly as they used to. Nevertheless he had a very big knife and Chuck wasn't too keen on fighting him, so he ran, having picked up a trick or two.
By the time he'd found out how to summon a certain angel without knowing Enochian, he'd been found several times, was hurt and exhausted. "Please, let it work." he sighed, closing his eyes as he'd finished the spell.
