i love ur null…. what is his deal..,.
hi, i love him too, let's share
i think of him as a fragmentation of identity. he's all the traits that baldi doesn't want, and then there's n and ull who seem almost like different people despite being definitely the same person. and then, if that's the case, i think the way ull (mis)manages his stress would make it worse. physical and mental health deteriorating as he tries to brute force the outcome he wants with complete neglect for his needs
this is a bit of canonical information actually, the developer does attempt to remove him on his own but he just comes back. he isn't trapped in the sense that he can't leave, rather that he won't leave, he will keep trying until it kills him i imagine. and it kind of does. if you want to read more about that ive spoken about it here
so, there are 2 others, this is to fit with the letter scheme (you've heard of n and ull, now you've got n and u and l and another l). and also because i can think of 2 reactions to the way null denies himself any healthy expression of stress
herring as in red herring, a distraction to keep someone from knowing the truth. he has no awareness of the current situation and is perpetually stuck in a panicked, hunted state.
he's based on this guy that only existed in version 1.0 of classic, a character who would give you frantic messages over the tape player. everything was strange and terrifying to him. herring is stuck in this mindset even if he isn't actually in that setting.
while the contents of the flashback didn't actually happen, the stress it comes with is very much real and mirrors whatever actually happened to null. it just tries to force him to face it by making it both unfamiliar and unavoidable. in this sense herring is a bit less separated than hadal is
hadal as in the hadopelagic zone, the bottom of the ocean. if null at any point questioned why he was doing what he was doing or if it was a good idea, if he should really be doing this, if he would even succeed, he'd shove it somewhere else. hadal is that somewhere else
it resents everything null has tried to achieve. it both tries to force him to stop and also tries to punish him for it. this is generally a reflection of how others have punished null for what he tries to do, but with hadal the reasoning isn't that the liberation null wants would work against its goals, rather that chasing after that and never tending to himself has ruined their life
and at the point in time i imagine these two could appear, yes, their life really is ruined. i have a little recurring setting which takes place after bbcr and plus where null and the blue one occupy the same space, and that's generally where i put these two. null's body is in an even worse state than it is in the game. he can't speak unless he tries very hard, existing hurts, when he stays anywhere it deteriorates around him. and then these guys linger around that body, like he's haunting himself. i don't think he's given up, but it's a lot harder for him to suppress his doubts and pretend he doesn't have problems. it's no longer just a weird cough he can ignore, it's killing him. and he doesn't have much incentive to keep up appearances, either
so in total, his deal is that he prioritizes Making Everything Fine over his own needs, and the people of this setting only care that he's in their way. so he'll grind himself to glittering dust, and no one will stop him because that's actually beneficial to their goals. you should pour orange juice on him
