hey media reviews, i get thatĀ you like to criticize movies and tv shows and i think thatās good! constructive criticism is awesome! but hereās the thing. youāre not criticizing anything when you label a character that canāt do much and have some kind of physical or mental problemĀ āannoyingā orĀ āuseless to the plot.ā youāre being ableist and you need to stop. iām not saying that you canāt dislike that character, but when its for the reasons above, its still ableist.Ā
its literally not that different from disliking a character for their race or gender.Ā
if someone dislike a black character just for being black, that would be racist.Ā
if someone disliked a woman character for the sole reason of being a woman, that would be sexist.Ā
therefore, disliking a neurodivergent or disabled character for being disabled or neurodivergent is ableist.Ā
