Lloyd being so instinctively primed to be a caretaker. He needs to help people heal. He can not help himself. No matter how much he thinks he's annoyed at Akita in the next scene, the impulse to know that a fellow soul is okay and has received the physical and emotional support they need overrides everything- that's what gets him to stay. Because he needs it. He's needed it so deeply his whole life, he knows how valuable it is. He knows how much it hurts to have to solider on by yourself and so it makes him anxious to see others also lacking that support. His reassuring words here come through so genuine but also sort of self-soothing. Healing others helps him heal.
