Day 13
The human remains in medical care, although visitations by anyone except the Vitrichl are currently prohibited by the medicals, preventing me from gathering any further observations of human behaviour.
I did, although, receive access to a sample the scientific unit had taken from the fluid that the human had regurgitated after her space excursion during the previous cycle, and the results of its analyzation are…rather alarming.
The fluid itself is incredibly acidic, and managed to dissolve all test objects given into the fluid in a matter of moments.
This obviously raised an even larger question: What was it? A bioweapon? A natural venom? Perhaps Dorag's tales were more credible than previously assumed? Assumptions that could not be proven certainly.
But the most alarming aspect of this is rather another question raised by these discoveries: If humans naturally posessed such a bioweapon, perhaps naturally produced it in their bodies, what did they need it for? The existence of such an mechanism implied the probable existence of a predator strong and agile enough that it was vital for humans to develop such a mechanism.
Even if that assumption is proved to be untrue, this discovery still turns humans into a much bigger threat than we had previously determined.
(Further note: One of the medicals has reported the human had repeatedly protested against any advances to provide her with medical care, continuously insisting she was alright and in no need of medical care. Despite the known durability of humans, she will be kept in medical care for at least one more cycle.)
Tyler pulled on formal black overcoat, annoyed that he couldn't just go out with his normal clothes. He glanced in the mirror, pulling a face at the reflection. His dress shit caught his eye and he straightened it again.
"Master Tyler" Arthur said with a sigh "I would advice you to wear a tie and button the top button as well"
"I don't want to" Tyler said, looking annoyed "Just tell me why exactly I have to go to this thing?"
Arthur nodded. "Yes, Sir, You do have to go" he said.
"And dressing up is necessary?" Tyler asked again.
"Yes, Sir"
Tyler rolled his eyes. "Fine...." he grumbled.
"We should hurry or else we'll be late for the meeting" Arthur said.
"It's damn tech company, Arthur" Tyler said as he made sure his hair was in a neat braid, before he followed after the old man "So what exactly is this meeting about?"
Arthur took out a folder and handed it to Tyler. "Everything you need to know about this investment is in there" he said "Please make sure to go through it before we get there"
Tyler nodded. "Alright...." he muttered, eyes already flickering over the documents. Without looking up, he got into the car, sitting back and letting Arthur drive him to the meeting.
"Arthur...." he muttered "How long had we've been working on this deal?"
"About a year, Sir"
"And they wouldn't go through with it, unless they have a meeting with me?"
"That's right, Sir"
"And you told them that I don't do meetings like that?"
"Yes, Sir"
"So they just kept declining?"
"That's right, Sir"
"That's annoying... next time just tell me so I can sort it out before they want a meeting" Tyler said annoyed.
"Will do, Sir"
"And one more thing, Arthur" Tyler said as he closed the folder "I'm going to need to take my tablet in and the extra phone"
"If you want, Sir" Arthur said as he drove.
Tyler closed his eyes as he sat back. "They are not going to like what I'm planning..." he warned.
"As always, Sir" Arthur said, there was a slight smile on the old man's face "I will not be surprised at all"
A smirk formed on Tyler's face. "I'm going to enjoy it..." he said "They are not going to be happy that they forced this meeting"
"I will be prepared for that, Sir" he said.
"Good...." Tyler said slowly, putting the folder down next to him "It said that they are the second biggest tech company.... What are their focus?"
"It's in the folder, Sir"
"Just tell me"
"Cyber security, Sir" Arthur said.
"Brilliant"
***
Tyler nodded slightly. "Alright...." he said as he sat back "You will be working with me directly and if you try to pull something like this again, I will take this entire company down"
"Of course" the head of the company said.
Tyler got up from where he sat, holding his hand out to the man. "It was nice doing business with you" he said, before turning to the door.
Before he even stepped towards the door, a shock went through the building, throwing everyone from their feet.
Immediately Tyler shifted so he wouldn't fall. Without hesitation he moved towards the lobby, to look at what was going on.
"Hallo.... all of you tech nerds" a voice said as a group stepped into the lobby of the building.
Tyler felt annoyed immediately. If he wasn't here as the Heir, he would have been able to slip away and take care of this mess. Now he couldn't even fight back.
The dust settled and the group blocked off the exits, before forcing everyone to start gathering in the lobby.
Tyler quickly stepped back, as if to hide from the villains. He knew that it was futile, but at least it was something. It didn't take the villains long before they found him and the others.
"What do you want?" Tyler snapped at them, as one of the men grabbed him. They forced his arms behind his back.
"Nothing that you need to worry about, pretty boy"
Tyler wanted to snap back at the guy, but just dropped it, since it would do him no good. And it might ruin his chance to get away.
"Now let's have some fun!" the leader said.
Immediately the rest of his men grabbed people and started beating them, throwing them around.
"...fucking... assholes..." Tyler growled under his breath.
He just looked away, when the men started killing some of the people. It took everything he had not to take them apart right there. Taking a shaky breath, Tyler clenched his jaw.
This was not going to be easy.
Screams and sobbing sounded through the lobby.
Tyler reached into his pocket, for his phone. They should have searched everyone. He quickly held in one of the buttons, activating Bell from his phone, so she could call and notify Arthur.
"What do you have here?" a voice said from behind Tyler, and he felt like punching the guy.
"A damn phone, you moron" Tyler said, immediately regretting saying it out loud. That was not his best idea. He should have just kept his mouth shut as the man grabbed his phone.
Without hesitation another guy back handed Tyler through the face, before grabbing his arm. He twisted it behind Tyler's back, pulling him to his feet.
Immediately Tyler could feel the pain shooting up from his elbow and shoulder. If they kept on twisting his arm like they, they were going to dislocate something.
"That was a really dumb move, pretty boy" the one holding his arm snapped.
"You're the dumb one in this relationship" Tyler said, through clenched teeth, moving his shoulders a bit back so they wouldn't dislocate his shoulder.
"That one got a smart mouth...." the leader said as he walked closer. He paused in front of Tyler "Oh.... I see.... You are the heir... Tyler la Rouge.... now what is a billionaire doing here?"
Tyler rook a deep breath. He couldn't snap at these people like he'd usual do. It would have to be Tyler the heir, not the street rat or the vigilante.
"A business arrangement" Tyler said, through clenched teeth.
"Well... that's to bad" the man said, before he back handed Tyler through the face.
Tyler tasted blood for a moment, but did not say anything else. He just let the blood drip from his lip.
"You rich people have no idea what people like us go through" the leader said.
For a moment Tyler felt a cold fury rip through him. He narrowed his eyes at the man, before shaking his head.
"Don't want to talk anymore?" the leader asked, before nodding to the man that stood behind Tyler. Without a pause, the man twisted Tyler's arm.
He felt two distinct pops. Immediately it felt like his entire arm was on fire. His shoulder and elbow, pulsed with a blinding pain. The man let go of his arm and Tyler sank to his knees, gripping his arm against his body, trying to breath through the pain.
"Now be a good boy, and just stay still" the leader said.
Tyler clenched his jaw. For a moment he could feel the NightAngel power burning just beneath his skin, before it just disappeared. He reached for his power again, but it just slipped away again.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"Just having some fun...." The demon's voice laugh, before its presence disappeared.
Clearly he wasn't going to get any help from that bastard. The pain kept on pulsing through his arm. Although this was going to be problem. His eyes flickered to the villains.
They were really working on his nerves, but there was no reason for him to give himself away.
So now he just needed to wait.
It hurt so badly, but he could live with it for a while. He watched as the villains started beating the people again.
There had to be something he could do.... something... anything... It was clear that they didn't want to kill him, if they did, he'd be dead already. They might be taking him for ransom.
Which is not a bad idea, but still bad for him.
"Are you alright?" one of the executives whispered to Tyler.
"...I'm fine..." Tyler said through clenched teeth "Don't... draw their attention..."
The man nodded.
"You shouldn't draw their attention either" he said.
Tyler just shrugged, before he pulled away. His eyes focused on the villains, following them as they went around just beating the people for fun.
"Stop it" Tyler snapped as he got to his feet again, ignoring the pain in his arm and shoulder. He couldn't move his arm at all. It was throbbing painfully.
"What did you say?" the leader asked.
Tyler tilted his head slightly. "Stop beating these people for fun" he said "Just tell us what you want so we can get this over with"
The leader narrowed his eyes at Tyler. "You have quite a lot to say don't you?" the man said, slowly stepping towards Tyler.
"Yeah.... Cause I'm not a coward that beats people for no reason" Tyler said, clenching his jaw.
A hand grabbed his dislocated shoulder and threw him back to the ground. The pain made his vision go dark for a second. As his vision came back, the first thing he saw was something like a crowbar coming down towards his legs.
He felt the pain before it slammed into the side of his head.
Everything went dull for a second as the second his rang against his head. The world went dark.
***
As Tyler slowly came back to himself, his head felt like it was going to explode, there was a funny taste in his mouth and all he could smell was blood.
Slowly he opened his eyes. First thing he realized was that was still laying on his back and in the middle of this shit show.
A figure knelt over his.
"Looks like you're still alive" the figure said.
It took Tyler a moment before he realized that it was the leader of the group. Immediately he wanted to punch the guy.
"... you'll... have to hit... harder than that..." he muttered, slowly pushing himself up. There was no doubt that he had a concussion. The question was now if they managed to fracture his skull or not. That he will only find out when the demon starts healing him or when Arthur takes a look at him.
The leader smiled slowly.
"You are much different than the rumours said" the leader said quietly "Now if you stop annoying me, you might get out of here alive"
Tyler narrowed his eyes at the man as much as he could through the pain in his head.
"Keep on killing people and you wouldn't get out of here alive..." his whispered.
"So glad to see you still have some fire left in you" the leader said.
Movement caught Tyler's eye. "I'd suggest you get out of here before things get nasty" he said sweetly.
Just as the leader was about to say something else, chaos irrupted around them. Tyler just stayed where he was, not having the strength to keep on moving.
He watched everything with blurred vision, until the fighting finally died down. Slowly he pulled himself up, moving slowly so that the world around him wouldn't turn to bad.
"Well now.... look at what we have here" an annoying voice said.
Tyler lifted his head slightly, eyes narrowed at the person in front of him. "Dusky.... What the hell do you want?" he snapped.
"I should be asking you what you're doing here.... Tyler" Jack said, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Why don't you just leave?" Tyler said.
"We can't" Jack said.
"What...." Tyler said sarcastically "You here to get me out?"
"Personally, I'd just leave you here to rot"
"Personally, I'd agree"
"Master Tyler!"
Tyler's head snapped towards the voice. The movement made the world turn and he almost fell over.
Strong arms caught him, careful of his arm.
"I've got you, Sir" the old familiar voice said.
"Demon's..... being... weird..." Tyler managed to whisper to Arthur before the world went dark for him again.
Arthur sighed as Tyler went limp in his arms. Gently he lifted the young man, before nodding to Jack and made his way out of the building.
There was blood in Tyler's hair and covering the entire side of his face, with more dripping from his nose and ears. It wouldn't surprise him if he had a fractured skull. Then his arm looked swollen, most likely dislocated.
Arthur nodded to Jack. "I will take care of Master Tyler from here" he said "Thank you for your assistance"
