BIOGRAPHY:

The man now known as Erik Lehnsherr was born Max Eisenhardt, the son of a middle-class German Jewish family in a secluded area of Germany left behind by the time. Here the family struggled his whole life with discrimination and hardship against a powerful group of Neo-Nazis, hell-bent against the people of the area, even going so far as opening back up the old holocaust concentration camps and taking prisoners. At the young age of only 13, his town was attacked and burned while his family was captured and executed, but Max survived, potentially thanks to the early manifestation of his amazing ability. He was sent to an old Nazi concentration camp where he was forced to do the unthinkable. He was made to torture and murder his own innocent people for his captors as a Sonderkommando. After years of this task, all Max allowed himself to feel was emptiness for the sake of what was left of his frail sanity.

His ability, though manifested, was weak and hardly detectable due to the weakened state the camp kept him in. Even Max only noticed minor strange anomalies and discarded them, thinking they were only tricks of the mind, but one day when one of his captors attempted to force him to harm a small child. This pushed Max overboard and thus his full ability was shown. He reached his arm out to the child through a metal fence. The gate began to twist and bend to nearly an unrecognizable state, along with other metallic objects in the camp. Soon the base was flattened, his captors all dead and the other prisoners freed, though they didn’t run. They just looked at him, terrified of the man’s strange ability. They all escaped together, leaving the boy who saved them alone.

This huge magnetic anomaly attracted the attention of the government agency, S.H.I.E.L.D., who offered him shelter, training and people like him all in a place called Novus Academy. The man had his reservations about this place and these people, he wasn’t sure how well he could trust them, but like before, he was sure he could escape if he needed to now that he knew of his abilities full potential. He agreed to go with them under the parameters that he would receive a new identity. Now known as the man named ‘Erik Lenhnsherr’. Erik joined the roster of the school.

BIOGRAPHY:

As her name implies, very little is known about the life of Mystique. Being a shape-shifter and a deceiver, it isn’t even clear what her real name is. In her “normal” form, she goes by the name Raven Darkholme. However, this too may be an alias and Mystique’s real name may be something entirely different.

Mystique’s life and upbringing are completely unknown. The earliest records of someone by the name Mystique can be traced to shortly after World War II. During this time she appears to have mastered her shape-shifting abilities. With her powers she began impersonating and conning people. It doesn’t appear to have been out of greed or malice. Mystique was always in need of money and a stable life. She did not have that on her own so her only way was to steal it from someone else. She often took the identity of someone who had recently died of natural causes or forged identities of people from distant towns. Most of her activity was in America and Canada. However, her cons often were exposed. Sometimes others found out. Other times she got bored and sought something different.

Eventually, Mystique began employing her talents in the criminal underworld. Under the name Raven Darkholme, she began her life as a spy and saboteur for various organizations. She eventually graduated to assassinations, theft, and extortion. Her skills were on par with that of military training. It isn’t clear where she received this training, but it made her a force to be reckoned with. These skills along with her shape-shifting abilities allowed her to become one of the most feared names in the criminal underworld. Her services commanded enormous sums of money. Yet despite this wealth, she was unable to forge a life for herself. So when allowed herself to fall into one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s “traps”, she knew the choice they would give her. Jail or their facility.

BIOGRAPHY:

There are varying accounts of Natalia Romanova’s early life. One account states that in 1928, Nazis set the building in Stalingrad that Natasha and her mother were living in on fire, her mother threw her out the window to a Russian soldier before dying in the fire. The soldier’s name was Ivan Petrovitch, and he watched over Natasha for her entire life, remaining by her side as her “foster father”. When Natasha hit puberty, she was taken to Department X, where she and a group of 28 other orphaned females trained in multiple forms of combat and espionage at the “Red Room” facility.

 Over the years she was bio-technologically and psycho-technologically enhanced: an accounting that provides a rationale for her unusually long and youthful lifespan. Memories of training ballet in the Bolshoi Theatre were implanted in her brain as artificial memories and she was ready to be sent on her first mission. Infiltrate Novus Academy. However, the agents at Novus knew of Natasha’s affiliation with the KGB and thought it would be best to have the girl closely under their surveillance. With that, Novus sent the girl an official invite to join their ranks.

BIOGRAPHY:

Not much is known about Wanda’s past and what is known has been classified. She was born into the opposite of the ‘ideal family’ in the outskirts of a small town in Ohio, where she spent most of her time being the problem child. Making friends with only the voices inside her head, children stayed away from the girl and the ones who did approach the girl, soon found out why she was always alone. At age 17, her family moved to Washington D.C. where she got mixed in with the wrong crowd and soon dropped out of school and ran away from home to travel the country and make a living with her natural talent of firearms and swords.

Turning 18, she joined the military and though she was one of the more physically superior recruits, there was only one fault; her mouth was almost never closed, which constantly caused her to get into trouble and eventually blindly volunteer for the Weapon-X program. Surprisingly, Wanda was one of the few, more successful volunteers managing to escape with only a broken mind and a newfound regeneration power. After a month of living on the streets, she was approached by representatives of Novus. Wanda was willing to fight the agents but she was quickly outnumbered and disarmed and taken to Novus where she stayed until she willingly agreed to behave and join Novus’ ranks.

BIOGRAPHY:

Born in California, Betty Ross is the only child of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and Karen Lee. Thunderbolt Ross had always hoped for a son to follow in his footsteps, and his adversity at having a daughter was reflected in the way that he raised her and since Betty’s mother had died from unknown causes when she was 14, her youth was spent under her father’s strict army hand. He quickly decided that an army base was no environment for a girl, so he sent her away to boarding school.

After graduation, she returned to her father’s side on the base. By then Thunderbolt Ross was in charge of a top-secret project to create a new type of weapon involving gamma radiation. The agents of Novus was already at the site of the project observing another possible student and saw possibility in Ross and asked her to join their ranks.

BIOGRAPHY:

Jean Grey was born the youngest of two daughters to John and Elaine Grey. Her father was a professor at Bard College History Department in Annandale-on-Hudson. Jean grew up a normal girl born and raised in New York; but while playing with her friend Annie Richardson, Annie was struck by a car. The high emotional stress of the accident caused Jean’s mutant powers to manifest well before she reached even pre-pubescence. This is rarely the case for most mutants, whose gifts typically surface in their early teens. This sudden surge in telepathic power linked Jean with her friend causing her to experience Annie’s death first hand. She was so traumatized by this event that she slipped into catatonia for the next three years.

When Jean reached age eleven, a psychiatrist referred her parents to S.H.I.E.L.D., an expert organization on mutation, where they trained her to control her abilities. For years she worked with these agents until news came to her of a school. One that would continue to train her, among other students like herself. Excited by the opportunity she was enrolled in the school.
