Nova: We are but it’s been how many days since- 

Nala, jumping up: Pizza, pizza, pizza! 

Nova, picking Nala up: Looks like Nala’s on board. 

Athina: But what about Cairo? 

Cairo: [BARKS]

Nova, chuckling: That’s three to your one. 

Athina, giving in: Okay, fine but I get to choose the toppings. 

Athina, getting Nala out the pool: Glad daddy’s home?

Nala: Uh-huh! 

[quick kiss] 

Nova: She love that pool don’t she? 

Athina: Yep! She nagged about it all morning. How did fishing go? 

Nova: Ah, it was okay but we didn’t catch much of nothin’. 

Athina: Well, at least you went. I guess I’m about to find something to cook. We haven’t eaten since breakfast. 

Nova: Me either. How about I order us a pizza? That way we won’t have much to clean tonight. 

“Huh… what do you mean?” Athina quizzed as her heart began to thud again. She’d never been this uncomfortable around him. 

“Like, about your life before you came here, maybe?” Nova responded, trying his hardest not to come off too intrusive. 

“What? Nova, where is this coming from?”

No reply. He turned his gaze from her and directed it toward the floor, contemplating whether it was worth it to continue on with the conversation. 

“Nova, please just tell me what this is about,” she urged again. 

He didn’t want to say it, but he uttered the question anyway. “Are you running from somebody?” 

“What? N-,” she was about to lie but she stopped herself. “S-sorta,” she finally confirmed.

Once in the garden, Athina’s eyes lit up with awe as she peered down at the candle arrangement gleaming below. 

“Nova... w-what is this?” she asked, butterflies growing in her stomach. “Did you-”

Before she could get her words out Nova swooped around and kneeled down in front of her. She gasped in response. 

“I know we haven’t been together long and this may be too soon,” he began,“but I wanna cherish you and spend the rest of my life with you. I feel like this is my last chance at true love. Will you marry me?” 

She put her hand on her chest, her heart beating as if it was on the verge of ripping out. She was almost speechless but she stayed responsive. “Y-yes...YES,” she finally gushed, lending her hand out so Nova could slide the ring on her finger.
