🪐 ⇢ name three good things going on in your life right now

1. I’ve been really enjoying the gym and physical activity again lately, which is nice to get back to after it tapered off at the end of 2025! I’m kinda putting it off til the last minute but I’m probably going to run a 5k event at the end of the month. 2. I am finally going to the Franklin Institute for the first time this weekend, which is a little silly given how long I’ve lived out here but still. I’m looking forward to it! 3. I feel like I’m finally coming out the other side of the creative funk I’ve been in lately, and I’m sure the sudden turn in weather and sunshine can be blamed, but it's nice to just. have casual fun imagination time again!

🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity

This is very much targeted toward like, fanfic and fun creativity vs. anything requiring timelines or discipline, but: fallow periods are okay! Lingering in the guilty feelings will just drain you further, so take time to engage with the things that spark your creativity. Read new books. Enjoy new experiences. Go do something exciting you’ve been putting off. And ultimately, just drop the barrier to creative re-entry? Maybe you’ve been accustomed to writing pages and pages, but that's not currently working, so just forget that. Shoot for 5 sentences. That's like a paragraph somewhere that maybe you can start to build a groove from. Can’t make that work on the WIP you wanted prioritize but you’re inspired for something else entirely? Go feed the whim. Better to be creative about something you’re excited about than put it off bc you're "supposed" to be writing something else and then lose that excitement momentum anyway. On the flip side, if that doesn't work for you, then my other advice is like, on the opposite extreme: go join a fic gift exchange where you have to knock something out with a deadline attached and high expectations to deliver something a stranger will like. That always gets my juices flowing!

buttery - favorite snack?

tortilla chips and salsa. i could easily demolish an entire bowl of salsa in a sitting if i'm not minding what i'm doing, which is hilarious because i largely cannot stand uncooked tomatoes in things, but throw in some onions and cilantro and seasons and blend it up? let's fucking go. (like, bruschetta can sometimes also bypass the tomato rule, but the seasonings are not as good, and the tomatoes are usually too chunky. but then i can do pico de gallo no problem? lol.)

paper - favorite children’s book?

hmm. going all the way back, i remember really loving "the girl in the golden bower" as a kid. my mom was really intentional about buying picture books that had beautiful illustration to instill an appreciation of art in me, and it really worked! the p.j. lynch version of "east of the sun west of the moon" also really sticks out in my memory for similar reasons.

sweetheart - favorite mug/cup?

honestly, probably this mug. it's not even that it's a star war lolol. don't get me wrong i love my BB-8 but the shape is perfect. excellent for cupping between hands. holds lots of coffee. i have a similar one that is Kylo Ren that we picked up thrifting bc i use the linked one so much.
