His bag hit the floor with a crash of metal and stone. But when he did get home, when his boots – soiled from the debris of their destruction – touched the porch of their home, he was more eager than fearful to have his hound in his hands once more. The door closed and Sam, cautious as ever, took a moment to take in the familiarity of the home.
