Parker was sitting at his desk at work, working on their new project with Dustin. Parker had asked his help with it a couple weeks ago, knowing the other was great at his job, so Parker could rely on Dustin with the job. They had spent so many days together now, working on the game, eating lunch together and sometimes even dinner, when they had to stay late at the office. Parker would say they’d become pretty close and he at least had grown some feelings for Dustin. But Parker never had the guts to say anything. Mostly because he didn’t know if Dustin would feel the same for him.
“Did you finish the layout for the character infos?” He asked, turning with his chair, to look over at Dustin. “I’ve got the backgrounds ready for them, i made a couple, so if you wanna take a look and tell me which one you like most?” Parker asked smiling. He always asked Dustin’s opinion, before deciding anything. He always made good points and advices.
Dustin was definitely shocked when Parker first approached him about the game he had been working on. He was fresh out of university, with his only experience being a small independent game he worked on with one of his friends. While it did gain some attention, he never imagined it would land him an opportunity like the one Parker presented him with. He took it without a second thought, but he was still incredibly nervous. This was the biggest project he had ever been involved in, and it didn’t exactly help that he was working with someone who was so respected in the field (technically it actually did help, but he was still in the process of figuring that out). He was flattered that he would even consider his help, but he was terrified of letting him down. That was why the first few days were a little nerve-wracking for him; he had no idea what to expect. However, he quickly found himself getting comfortable in the new position. In no time Parker felt like one of his closest friends. Someone he could share any ideas with, no matter how confident he actually was about them. There were occasions that he caught himself staring at his partner instead of focusing on his own work, but he quickly shrugged these distractions off. Sure, the other male was an attract guy, there was no denying that. But he didn’t think he would have had any interest in a guy like him.
He was just wrapping up his work on the character pages’ layouts when Parker asked him about him. He stopped what he was doing at the sound of his voice, his gaze lifting from the screen so that he could stare at his colleague. “I think I’m finished with it if you wanna see.” He suggested, turning his monitor slightly so that he could get a better view of his work.He nodded his head when he mentioned the background, already pushing his seat so that it wheeled over to where Parker was. “Sure thing. Let me see ‘em.”
