My husband (John) and I are rarely overindulgent food people. He is a very disciplined person and I have major health issues where I have to remain diligent about food. Fridays are junk food day but we put a healthy spin on it. For example, if it is Asian food it’s homemade, as close to authentic you can get as a non Asian person. Thursday night, I went into the hubby’s sanctuary and said let’s do burgers tomorrow. Out of control burgers. John: babe, that doesn’t sound healthy. Me: nope. Let’s overindulge. Gooey cheese(semi vegan life out the door), bacon, carmelized onions, french fries... blame pinterest. “ John: No, we are doing good with our dietary lifestyle. Me thinking “John’s disciplined ways are blocking my hamburger. Fast forward at the grocery store. Me: What do you want for dinner? I am thinking Popeye’s fried chicken meals. (Ever so innocently 😉) My husband is not saying yes to that at all. John: seeing through me. “Fine Since, I am on vacation let’s do the burgers) Inner victory dance going on. We buy all the fixings. Get ready to go the car when we realize we forgot to buy the ground beef. Neither of us wants to go back in that hot mess. I end up going to the local grocery store. (Which became an ordeal) Pictures 1. My ridiculous burger. Two patties with melted havatti cheese, black pepper bacon, camelized onions, lettuce and tomatoes 2. I cut the burger in half. I know the experts say medium rare make the best burger. I disagree. This will be the pinkest my burger will ever look. I ate half last night, wrapped the burger in the lettuce, got rid of the bread. I put the bread in the freezer, I will make bread crumbs with it later in the month. 3. The other half destructed for breakfast with an egg. 4. John’s ridiculous burger. American cheese. Well done. Still juicy.
