I've read a ton of people's views on it immediately after I finished the movie

It had a weird and nastolgic vibe to it. I don't know if I liked that. I think the people involved in making this film did a really good job of leaving me feeling weirdly attached to the movie ...like the characters were weirdly attached to each other.

As much sense as it made for the lesson to be - you need your memories, in order to learn from your past; I don't want to really accept that. Because there's a reason he had that impulse to take a train to Montauk that day. And a reason they ran into each other again (and why did that scene look straight out of a Rhye music video) ...theres a reason he somehow remembered Montauk, and to go there, almost subconsciously. Actually, it was subconscious.  Something that couldn't be erased somehow. Something like, fate? Weird. Even though they tried to have it all vanish, they basically ended up in the same place...

 maybe they're doomed to repeat their same mistakes, maybe... but maybe she won't be as impulsive this time? 

Although they did have a lot of negative things to say about each other, and the ending of their relationship genuinely seemed shitty ...so after hearing that all over again, what makes them want to be together?

It doesn't make sense. They're a pretty oddly paired couple, they don't make sense.

It also had me feeling really creeped out and weirded out thinking that that could happen, and you'd have no idea.

What if you get that strong pull towards someone for no reason ...and that reason is because you had a past with them, in another dimension or some shit. 

Maybe some relation to the that old splitting the 4 armed and 4 legged humans in half..

My mind is freaked out

and my dreams are definitely going to be some weird shit tonight trying to sort this all out.
