Since I’m not writing Buddie at the moment, I made up another Diaz to pair Buck up  with... I’m not one to call for Eddie to be killed off in canon but I’m one to have him killed off in my own fictional world. This would be for my SWAT!Buck AU

So here I present Antonio “Deuce” Diaz!

**Character is inspired by Gabriel’s character in the short-lived series Matador, Tony Bravo. 

Antonio ‘Deuce’ Diaz (FC: Gabriel Luna, 31) - older brother of Eddie Diaz. He is popular retired-soccer player, turned newscaster, he is based in LA. It’s his covert identity, his real job is an undercover NCIS Agent working in rooting out international crime syndicates. Not even his family knew about his real job. He is the black sheep of the family having come out as gay to his devout Catholic parents at age 19. His parents are not physically abusive or overtly homophobic but they are not very accepting either. They are not very proud of his “chosen lifestyle” and in Deuce’s own words ‘they are tolerating, which is the lowest form of acceptance there is.’ After graduating highschool and coming out to his family, Antonio joined the Navy which put him on a path to becoming an NCIS agent. He played soccer in order to infiltrate LA Aztecs, a professional soccer team and bring down Aztecs’ owner, William ‘Bull’ Sumner, who was suspected of recruiting sailors to smuggle in illegal drugs and artifacts. 

When Eddie got into street fighting no one was able to pull him back, not even Lena. Buck was dealing with his own shit, as is the rest of 118. Eddie eventually  got arrested and died in prison. Unknown to anyone in the Diaz family, after Shannon died, Eddie named his older brother, Deuce as Christopher’s guardian. Upon learning about Eddie’s death, he reluctantly took custody of Christopher. He loves the kid but between juggling his double life, he barely saw Chris and he knows nothing about raising a child. But he knows the kid is better off with him considering the truth about his brother’s death. Deuce knew for a fact that his brother was targeted in prison in retaliation for Deuce bringing down Bull Sumner.  

Buck blames himself for Eddie dying and for not being there for Eddie when Eddie was suffering with his anger issues. He knows intellectually that it wasn’t his fault but having had an argument with the other man before he got arrested and died, threw his emotions for a loop. Now he don’t even get to see Chris anymore after Eddie’s estranged brother took the kid away.

Buck and Deuce crossed paths when Deuce has to loop in LAPD SWAT in to apprehend the people responsible for his brother’s death.
