LIVELOVEMANJA Food Allergy Grocery List
When shopping for a person with a severe food allergy/sensitivity/intolerance (whether it be for yourself or a loved one), the grocery store can be a little overwhelming.
Here is a grocery list guide to help you navigate the overwhelming aisles of the grocery store. Please see side notes for specific food allergens. Of course you are not required to buy all listed ... pick and choose from what suits you and your palette.
Best Stores to shop (Whole Foods, Safeway, Bi - Rite (Delores Park, San Francisco))
Best Markets to shop (Local Farmers Market, Local Market with strong relationship)
Vendor's/Product Websites for allergy safe food (label with allergen guard); usually company's website is noted on casing of product.
Daily Staples (what you will need and lasts longest)
Protein Powder**(I personally like VegaOne because it has an allergen guard and I can notice the change in my hair and skin, that it is nourishing me)
Quinoa (TruRoots is at Costco and Safeway, Gluten Free , Allergen guard)
Cous Cous (israeli or Mediterranean pasta, bead texture), Gluten free Cous Cous or Gluten Free Pasta
Rice (white is easiest to digest)

Flax Seed Oil (if you don't have an intolerance)
Sesame Seed Oil (if you're not allergic to seeds, great on veggies and asian food)

Raw chocolate (check all labels carefully. There are gluten free, tree nut free, peanut free, and vegan options at both whole foods and safeway)
