So, my results? Random name is Bluethorn. I tried really hard to type in the namebox so I could be my result from probably a few sites ago, Wildpath, but it wouldn’t let me. So after a few refreshes, Bluethorn it is.

No clan quiz, which I’m kinda surprised about. There was one on the old site - why not reuse it? But nope: the only “what X are you?” quiz is which character are you most like. Which for me is apparently one of my least favorite characters: Hollyleaf. Okay, the traits the site chooses to emphasize do fit, but I really don’t like how crazy zealous she is. Although I suppose I liked Sol as much as she did in that one book, so there’s that.

The spoilers filter doesn’t seem to do what I hoped it would. I’m still in the middle of Dawn of the Clans so I set mine to Omen of the Stars since that’s the last series I read all the way through. Going to the cats page should show me the state of things at the end of Omen of the Stars, right? Nope. Instead I see cats called Alderheart and Twigbranch, and I have no idea who these guys are. And for some reason Tigerstar is listed in Shadowclan as if he’s alive. Uh, is it just because the Dark Forest isn’t an option? Hawkfrost is also listed in Riverclan as if he’s alive, and there’s no sign of Mothwing, Silverstream, Spottedleaf or the dozens of other important characters through the series. 

And it outright forbids me from going into the Family Tree page because there’s spoilers. Wow. Who would have guessed? I’ve already been spoiled of Alderheart’s and Twigbranch’s warrior names (and yes I do consider that spoilers. It’s always interesting to see what each apprentice ends up being called) by the last page I saw!

Although Tree’s character spotlight refused to load, so I wonder if that’s related to my settings? I do hope it’s on purpose and not just the site being buggy.

Messing with the spoilers option does rearrange the cats on the cats page - like setting it to The Prophecies Begin puts Graystripe in Riverclan, for example. I still think I shouldn’t be seeing the warrior name of cats that don’t exist yet as of the last book read, though. I see there’s a little of that going on (Brambleclaw shows up as Bramblepaw when set to The Prophecies Begin), but it’s not there the entire way. Like Leafpool, Lionblaze, etc. are still just showing their warrior names.

As far as the articles themselves, it’s nice to have the Warrior Code and the origins of the clans tale available for all to see. It’s not new, but eh. Actually, the origins of the clans tale is the old version that lacks any reference to Skyclan, which is a little odd.

The videos are pretty neat, if feeling a little off from the tone of the series. Like, why do the clan videos have one of the people sound like they’re a robot or otherwise talking through a computer? And imply that you actually choose your clan (because really, you’re born into it, basically)?

Not going to comment on the fan stuff other than it’s cool.

Overall, I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the site in the future, but as with anything since I last stopped reading the books, I’m not expecting much. I’m sad to see the games go, but I like having an “official” warrior name and such because that’s fun.
