To those with a “water resistant” iPhone
...yeah. Not really. They are rated to IP67 which means it’s good in 3 feet of water for 30 minutes.
HOWEVER...
A quick roll of my kayak with my iPhone 7+ in my mesh deck bag gave me water damage. What? 6 inches of water for maybe 45 seconds. Yep. Home button not working, bottom of the screen is wonky and the camera lens has condensation on it.
Ok. It’s still under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. Wait. Fine print. It doesn’t cover liquid damage. How is that so? You say the phone is water resistant. That’s bullshit.
Thankfully I have insurance through my phone plan. They cover it. $50 deductible and I’ll be buying a waterproof case for my water resistant phone. Makes no sense.
my card was declined for a $1k bill i had to pay and the deadline to get the 30% discount was the day it was processed so i might have to pay another $500 i’m so stressed :)
