the first 50 seconds of "the bells of notre dame" from the hunchback of notre dame is like if you were a casual catholic chilling in the nave by the main alter, and the choir was still practicing for christmas mass, and you're bored but then all of a sudden, the big stained glass of the madonna cracks and shatters and a masked figure floats in through the opening and everyone is freaking out and you're stunned and ready to die, but it just turns out that it's dracula and he's bored too.

Diversity failure...
Went to a panel on diversity in role playing games at GenCon where the participants were running ~10 minutes late. Then, when it became clear that the original panelists weren’t coming, three audience members decided that they were qualified enough to do it themselves so they went to the table up front, sat down, and started running the panel. All three were white. They showed no initial sense that maybe this wasn’t their show to run - even in the face of its cancellation.
Rather than listen to three white folks talk to a room full of mostly other white folks about diversity in RPGs, my wife and I left to do... literally anything else.
*sigh* Do better, gamers.
